Queen's Park Singers

Queen's Park Singers Queen's Park Singers is a friendly choir based in London
We rehearse Sunday evenings 6.20-9pm
Music Director: Oliver Till

We rehearse on Sunday evenings (6.20-9.00pm), and usually perform three concerts per season. Our repertoire ranges from the Tudor period to works by living composers, and we sing in a variety of languages. Our Music Director is Oliver Till and we are accompanied by Daniel Chappell. For each concert, we rehearse over a period of about two months, meeting on Sunday evenings at the Church of St Anne & St Andrew, 125 Salusbury Road, London NW6 6RG. We welcome new members, and hold open rehearsals at the start of each term - get in touch for more information!

Saint-Saëns (pictured here with his dog Delila) was in the audience for the premiere of Charles Gounod’s St. Cecilia Mass, and he wrote:

“This simplicity, this grandeur, this serene light which rose before the musical world like a breaking dawn, troubled people enormously… at first one was dazzled, then charmed, then conquered.”

We're performing the alongiside Saint-Saëns's Symphony No. 3 'Organ', famous from the 1995 film Babe, which features colossal organ chords in the finale - something you feel as well as see and hear.

I hope you can join us on 22 November to hear it live!

Lili Boulanger’s "Pour les funérailles d’un soldat" (For the funeral of a soldier) is her first surviving choral work.

Although she was only 19 at the time, its orchestration, and use of modes display her prodigious skills that helped her win the Prix de Rome the following year.

We performed 4 works by Lili Boulanger in Autumn 2024, and we can't wait to share some more of her music with you on Sunday 22 November!

Last years scholars were vocal students from the Royal College of Music and Trinity Laban, and they had a great time!

What did they get up to?

👉 performing solos with baroque orchestra (in Purcell's King Arthur)
👉 solos in recital and in concert with our accompanist Daniel Chappell (Répétiteur Fellow at the Royal Academy of Music) and Thomas Ang (répétiteur for the Royal Ballet)
👉 gaining experience leading choral warm-ups and sectionals
👉 singing a wide variety of music spanning 400 years
👉 learning from the mentoring and feedback of our experienced Music Director, Oliver Till
👉 meeting and performing alongside keen singers of all ages & backgrounds
