For Volunteer Week, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has generously shared their story with us over the years.

Whether you are a survivor, performed CPR, or have supported a loved one through recovery, volunteering to share your experience helps us to raise awareness of cardiac arrest and inspire others to act when it matters most ❤️

Cardiac arrests don’t just happen in hospitals.

Our new Out‑of‑Hospital Advanced Life Support (OH‑ALS) course has been developed to help prepare clinicians to manage cardiac arrest in pre‑hospital settings.

Our Clinical Lead, Naomi, explains more.

Stroke and heart attack patients typically receive coordinated rehabilitation and follow-up care after they leave hospital, but the same can’t be said for all cardiac arrest survivors.

That’s why we’re asking governments across all four nations to endorse and embed our Survivor Quality Standard within national cardiac strategies, so survivors get the long-term care they deserve ❤️

You can help by sending your local decision‑maker our pre‑written letter: action.resus.org.uk/the-weakest-link

Knowing the facts can help people act faster and with confidence when it matters most.

After surviving a cardiac arrest and receiving fantastic care in hospital, MacLean expected ongoing support with his recovery after discharge.

Instead, he felt isolated and unsure where to turn for advice and support.

His experience reflects a wider issue: too many survivors and families are left to navigate recovery alone.

MacLean's full story is available now on our website: bit.ly/4f9m7Bo

Yesterday, we delivered a Basic Life Support training session for the Senior Leadership Team at Bauer Media Outdoor.

It was excellent to see such strong engagement and commitment to building lifesaving capability across the organisation.

This session marks the first step in developing a wider CPR awareness programme. We’ll now be supporting CPR champions across Bauer Media Outdoor to deliver training throughout their organisation and help more people feel confident to act in an emergency.
