Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women – making it just as common as asthma.

So why are so many women still struggling to get a diagnosis? Why are their symptoms and excruciating pain so often dismissed and minimised, leaving them to think it's "all in their head" and that there is no solution?

Following Emma Barnett's BBC documentary Fighting Endometriosis, nutritional therapist and ION alumni Nicola Moore Nutrition speaks with journalist and ION Communications Officer Verónica Muñoz about the role that nutrition and lifestyle medicine can play in supporting those living with endometriosis

She also explores how nutrition and lifestyle medicine could help manage symptoms and improve quality of life, drawing on her own experience of living with endometriosis.

If you have watched the documentary or have suffered from endometriosis, leave us a comment with your thoughts 💚.

What if the symptoms your midlife clients are struggling with (unexplained weight gain, brain fog, poor sleep, mood changes, and rising cardiometabolic risk...) are all connected to one central transition? 🤔

Menopause is not just a hormonal shift. It’s a whole-body, multi-system change that impacts metabolism, the brain, the heart, and the gut in deeply interconnected ways.

This one-day CPD course takes a functional, systems-based approach to menopause, giving practitioners the tools and clinical insight to better understand and support clients through this transition.

You’ll explore the hormonal changes of menopause and their downstream effects, then dive into four key clinical domains:

• Metabolic health: insulin resistance, weight changes, sarcopenia, mitochondrial function
• Cardiometabolic health: lipids, ApoB, blood pressure, endothelial function, cardiovascular risk
• Brain health: mood, cognition, anxiety, and oestrogen–neurotransmitter interactions
• Gut health: estrobolome activity, microbiome shifts, motility, and systemic impacts

Join this live online CPD session with Christine Bailey in the Kitchen (Registered Performance Nutritionist RNutr. BANT), who will be answering your questions throughout the day.

Has social media changed the way we think about nutrition? 📱

From “what I eat in a day” videos to trending wellness routines, nutrition advice is now everywhere and often delivered in seconds.

While social media has made conversations around nutrition more accessible, it has also created an environment where trends, conflicting opinions, and oversimplified messaging can spread quickly.

Nutrition is rarely one size fits all, which is why evidence informed education and critical thinking matter more than ever.

At ION, we encourage thoughtful conversations around nutrition that go beyond trends and support a deeper understanding of wellbeing and individual needs.

What do you think social media has changed most about the way people approach nutrition? Share your thoughts below ✨

What if fermentation was more than a food trend?

In this fascinating conversation, Ukrainian chef and author Olia Hercules reflects on food, identity and resilience, sharing memories of Ukraine and discussing how fermentation became her “act of resistance” following the war in Ukraine. She explores the therapeutic power of cooking, the connection between neurodiversity and food, and why preserving recipes and traditions matters in times of crisis.

A moving and deeply human piece about nourishment, memory and survival.
