🌍✨ Global Wind Day ✨🌬️

Teaching the next generation about renewable energy—right from the kitchen table 💚

Learning about sustainability doesn’t have to stay in textbooks. Build, create, explore, ask questions… and show children how small actions can lead to big change.

We’re getting excited for our upcoming event where families will explore sustainability and environmental learning together 🌱

💬 How do you bring environmental learning into your home?

For many SEND teens, stress doesn’t always look the way people expect

Sometimes it looks like:
• Shutting down
• Avoiding tasks
• Frustration or overwhelm
• Wanting more space or quiet
• Struggling to explain how they feel

During Mental Health Awareness Week, we’ve been reflecting on how important simple, supportive routines can be for young people navigating stress and anxiety.

Small moments of understanding, calm, and connection can make a bigger difference than we realise ✨

If you’re supporting a neurodiverse young person, this is your reminder that low-pressure support matters.

Save this for later 💾

🌍💛 Yesterday we celebrated International Day of Families 💛🌍

At Young Minders, we know that families are the first classrooms, the safe spaces, the encouragers, the advocates, and the everyday heroes behind every child’s journey. 🌱✨

Home-educating families show incredible strength, creativity, resilience, and dedication every single day. From learning through nature, exploring new ideas, building meaningful friendships, and nurturing wellbeing — your commitment reminds us that education truly has no boundaries. 💚

Every family’s path is unique, and that is something to be celebrated. Together, we are building communities where children feel seen, supported, empowered, and free to thrive in their own way.

To all the amazing parents, carers, young people, volunteers, and educators in our community — thank you for continuing to grow, learn, and inspire with us. 🌍✨

Because when families are supported, children flourish. 💫

At our recent Young Minders Family STEAM Day in London, our Mother’s Day design station was filled with creativity, connection, and thoughtful ideas 💐✨

Families explored colour, structure, patterns, and design while creating handmade gifts and keepsakes together. From careful details to imaginative creations, it was wonderful seeing everyone express themselves in their own unique way.

More than just an activity, this station encouraged communication, confidence, and creative thinking in a calm and inclusive space where every idea mattered 💡

Sometimes the most meaningful learning happens through creating something with love ❤️

RESILIENCE

It’s not about being the best.
It’s about showing up — even when it feels hard.

Sport gives young people something powerful:
a safe space to try, fail, learn, and try again.

💭 missed shots become lessons
💭 tough days become turning points
💭 trying again becomes strength

For home-educated and neurodiverse children, these moments aren’t rushed or pressured — they’re experienced, supported, and meaningful.

And that’s where real resilience is built.

This is why access matters.
This is why opportunity matters.
This is why partnership matters.

We’re working with organisations who want their CSR and social value commitments to create real, visible impact in young people’s lives — through wellbeing, sport, and inclusive development.

📩 If your organisation is looking to invest in meaningful community impact, we’d love to connect.

🥋🎭 What an evening!

We had such an amazing time watching The Karate Kid – The Musical at New Wimbledon Theatre ✨

From the energy on stage to the smiles in our group, it was a night full of inspiration, connection, and fun 💛

These are the moments we love creating—bringing families together, building friendships, and making memories that last.

Thank you to everyone who joined us 🫶

CONFIDENCE ✨

Confidence doesn’t always come from a classroom.

Sometimes it’s built on a pitch, in a game, in movement — through trying, falling, laughing, and trying again.

For home-educated young people, sport creates a space where there is:
no pressure
no comparison
no “right or wrong pace”

Just growth.

👏 Every small win matters
👏 Every child is seen
👏 Every step forward counts

And that’s where real confidence begins to grow.

Because when children feel safe to try… they start to believe in themselves.

Supporting your SEND teen’s mental health doesn’t have to be perfect

Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can offer is a simple, predictable routine that helps them feel safe, calm, and understood.

Try this each week ⬇️
🧠 A gentle sensory reset
🌿 A short grounding moment
💬 A no-pressure check-in
🤝 Low-pressure connection time

No long sessions. No pressure to talk. Just small, consistent moments that build trust over time.

Every young person is different — so adapt it. More movement, more quiet, different ways of communicating… it all counts.

✨ Small steps really do make a big impact.

If you’re home educating or supporting a SEND young person, save this to come back to 💾

Follow for more practical, real-life support for SEND families.

✨ What a day! ✨

💚 100% of families said their curiosity was sparked!
🧪 The Invincible Gas experiment was the clear favourite – 60% of families loved it the most!
🎨 From Curious Chemist to Brain & Senses, everyone had a blast exploring, experimenting, and learning together.

We can’t wait for more family STEAM days and workshops – thanks to all the amazing families who joined! 💫
