Today is Youth Mental Health Day! 💚

The theme for 2026 is - helping young people build their future, one step at a time.

Young people are determined, creative and resilient, but they are also navigating unprecedented pressures that can make the future feel daunting. That's why stem4 offers help and guidance for young people to manage anxiety, self-harm, depression, and eating disorders, while also building resilience and online safety.

Download their free guide for young people and share it with your network, local schools, or any young person in your life who might benefit from it.

We were excited to welcome Emma and Rebecca from YesColours back to Family Futures this month. They came with paints and brushes ready to bring our Ocean therapy room mural to life! We watched as the walls were transformed with waves of colour, and by the end of the day, Ocean had become an exciting, colourful space to dive into.

“It looks like I’m in the ocean, and the ocean is cosy
with all these beanbags” - young person at Family Futures, August 2026

We are very grateful for the generous support of Emma, Rebecca and the whole team at YesColours, whose time, creativity and colour expertise continue to help make our therapy spaces feel calmer, brighter and more welcoming for the children and families we support. yescolours.com

Family Futures is deeply saddened to hear about the death of Jason Arday. For a man who advocated being kind, he was not shown the same kindness. He was open about the systemic barriers he faced as a black academic and about his experience of being neurodivergent. This tragedy is a reminder that the kindness and support Jason extended to others was missing when he was feeling vulnerable and needed kindness most from others. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this extremely sad and difficult time.

MPs, friends and campaigners gathered to remember former Cambridge professor after his death on Friday
