Facilitate creative residential retreats for Careleavers, spoken word, poetry, creative writing, film, art, performance et. 'Siblings Together'
Is the only charity in the UK focusing upon the welfare of Brothers & sisters in Care, Adoption and Kinship Care. We work with the aim of strengthening these lifelong family connections. We also develop creative opportunities for careleavers. We work in pa
rtnership with other organisations to alleviate the hurt of living apart due to no fault of their own, helping young people to reconnect in positive ways, creating strong foundations for the future. We founded our residential camps in the UK after visiting/working and being inspired by camps in the USA, namely Camp to Belong in 07'. We recognise the trauma of separation of siblings & the lifelong impact this can have, which is often overlooked. 'Siblings Together' provides new & fresh opportunities for planned, enjoyable, high quality contact within a safe yet non institutionalised camp model. Our highly skilled staff ensure that entire sibling family groups, of mixed sexes & ages enjoy a family holiday TOGETHER!!. We support parents, social workers, carers and adopters to help maintain these important bonds throughout their time in care. We hold camps in various locations across the UK
We have worked closely with the Princes Trust, YHA, etc who have provided many activities alongside our well established art's programmes. Our Performance & film making Camps are also held at the Young Vic theatre in London & soon to be held at the Roundhouse Theatre Camden, other venues are always considered. We employ highly skilled staff & volunteers for our camps
if you wish to join us at camp please feel free to download an application form from our website. We offer pre camp preparation, support and supervision throughout camp.
