We are thrilled to celebrate King's College Hospital Charity becoming the Official Charity Partner of Dulwich Hamlet FC for the upcoming 2026–27 season.

The partnership brings together two organisations with deep roots in South London and a shared commitment to improving the lives of local people.

King's College Hospital Charity and Dulwich Hamlet will work together to raise funds to support King's College Hospital and increase awareness of the exceptional care it provides.

“King’s means a lot to me personally, and I just want to say thank you to the nurses, the doctors, the porters, everyone that's involved within Team King’s.”

Alice’s Dad, Graham, was diagnosed at King's with a heart condition two years ago, which was treated at Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH).

Graham had a routine appointment at PRUH for a cough, but the doctors diagnosed an underlying heart condition which the family had no idea about.

The condition is under control, but it could have been more serious had it not been found it in time. Alice and her family are extremely grateful for the care provided to her Dad by King's College Hospital NHS 💛

Exciting news! 🙌 King's College Hospital Charity is delighted to announce its appointment as the Official Charity Partner of Dulwich Hamlet Football Club for the 2026–27 season. ⚽

The partnership brings together two organisations with deep roots in South London and a shared commitment to improving the lives of local people. Throughout the season, we will work together to raise funds to support King's College Hospital, increase awareness of the exceptional care it provides, and inspire more people to get behind their local NHS.

Alan Bolchover, Chief Executive of King's College Hospital Charity, said:

It was a pleasure to welcome chief executives from leading healthcare and gardening charities to King’s Critical Care Roof Garden this week- for a tour of this innovative space and the chance to learn about its benefits for critically ill patients.

The roof garden, which opened earlier this summer, is funded by King’s College Hospital Charity.

Located on top of the 60-bed critical care unit of King's College Hospital NHS, the garden enables critically ill patients to receive full medical support, while enjoying the benefits of greenery, fresh air and natural light.

Dr Richard Claxton, Chief Executive of National Garden Scheme, which generously contributed nearly £38,000 to support planting in the new roof garden, attended, along with Dame Laura Lee DBE, Chief Executive of Maggie's Centres and Katie Tait, CEO of Horatio's Garden.

They met with Dr Tom Best, Clinical Director for Critical Care at King's and learned more about how being outside and in nature can help accelerate the healing process for patients. During the visit, Intensive Care Medicine Consultant at King's, Dr Phil Hopkins, spoke about his future research plans looking at the therapeutic benefits of the roof garden on patients.

Dr Claxton said: "It was so encouraging to see how King’s Critical Care Roof Garden is bedding in. King's is an international centre of excellence - a world leader in clinical care, and it's wonderful to see this same spirit of aspiration and achievement in the garden. It's such an inspirational design and I'm certain it will become an exemplar for similar critical care units elsewhere to follow.

"We're so proud that the National Garden scheme - through its garden openings and visits has raised crucial money to fund this project, and we're really looking forward to see its further evolution as it grows with the unit."
