October is Black History Month, a time to celebrate Black history, culture, achievements and the invaluable contributions of Black people across the UK.

At St Ann’s Foundation, we’re proud to support a wonderfully diverse school community, and we believe every student should have opportunities to see different histories, cultures and experiences represented and celebrated.

Black History Month is also an important opportunity to learn and reflect. Race and disability can both shape people’s experiences, and true inclusion means recognising the whole person and continuing to challenge the barriers and inequalities that still exist.

This October, we’re really pleased to be funding some brilliant activities at St Ann’s School, including a Mary Seacole storytelling workshop and a steel drum performance and workshop. 🥁❤️

What a brilliant prom! ❤️✨

Prom is always one of our favourite events of the year, and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. Seeing everyone laughing, dancing and celebrating together was so special.

To all of our incredible leavers, we’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved. We know how much hard work, love and determination has gone into getting to this moment, not just from you but from your families too.

From all of us at the Foundation, we want to wish you every happiness and success in whatever comes next. Congratulations, Class of 2026. We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way. 🎉🎊

We just want to say another big thank you to everyone for their generosity and support at yesterday’s Summer Fair.

Together, we raised £900 for St Ann’s Foundation!

Thank you to our Headteacher, Timmy, who very bravely agreed to have beans, spaghetti, tomatoes and jelly poured over his head in the name of fundraising.

Thank you to the parents who gave up their time to run stalls, bake cakes and prepare delicious hot food.

Thank you to the staff who worked so hard behind the scenes and on the day to make the event such a success.

Thank you to the families and friends who came along, bought items, donated and supported the fair.

Most importantly, our young people had a fantastic day, and that’s what matters most ❤️

Thank you for helping us create such a lovely day for them.

A huge thank you to Timmy, St Ann’s Headteacher!

Yesterday, Timmy stood bravely while staff, students and parents launched wet sponges at him.

Unfortunately for him, that was only the warm-up.

He was then covered head to toe in spaghetti, tinned tomatoes, baked beans and jelly, all to raise money for the school and the new bus.

A shower later and Timmy was back to normal, as if the whole thing had never happened.

Thank you, Timmy, for being such a fantastic sport!

🎉 Summer Fair Donations Needed 🎉

We need your help to make this event a success!

As we get closer to St Ann’s first Summer Fair, we are looking for donations of food and treats for our stalls.

If you are able to donate anything, we’d be incredibly grateful. Homemade or shop-bought cakes, crisps, drinks and other goodies are all welcome. (all nut free)

A lot of icing, a lot of sprinkles and very tired trustees later, our cake sale at Oldfield Primary School raised just over £300 for St Ann’s Foundation 🍰

Huge thank you to the Oldfield team for having us, and to everybody who stopped by, donated or bought a cake today.

We’re already thinking about what to do next, so if there’s a cause you care about, something you feel isn’t spoken about enough, or just a fun awareness idea, we’d love to hear it.
