Last Monday evening our Juniors got creative with a DIY Archery set made from a lolly stick, rubber bands and some cotton buds.
All the boys got them to fire but the accuracy wasn't great. The safest place to stand when the boys were firing was straight in front of them!!!!

And so it all began.

On this day in 1883, a Sunday School teacher in Glasgow decided he’d had enough of chaos in his classroom.

William Alexander Smith was a businessman and Volunteer soldier who couldn’t keep his boys in order — so on the evening of 4 October 1883, he threw open the doors of the Free College Church Mission at 329 North Woodside Road with two friends, the Hill brothers. They called themselves “the Dauntless Three.”
The first session was pure drill. No boy could fall in if he was even a minute late. But it worked — fifty-nine names in three weeks, boys aged twelve to sixteen.

That one evening became the world’s first uniformed youth organisation. It pioneered organised camping for young people in 1886, and Baden-Powell later drew on it when he founded the Scouts in 1908.

From a mission hall in Glasgow to 750,000 members worldwide.

We have 2 teams entered in the London challenge today. Hope you have a great day boys.

After kicking off our 2026 Monopoly Challenge in Inverness last weekend, tomorrow we're looking forward to heading to Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, London and York, with 122 teams and an estimated 540 young people set to take part across the six cities! 🙌
