The Loomba Foundation is a global charity which was established on 26th June, 1997 in London. The charity was founded by Lord Raj Loomba and his wife Lady Veena Loomba. The inspiration for the charity arose from Raj’s late mother Shrimati Pushpa Wati Loomba. She herself became a widow on 23rd of June in 1954 at the age of 37 and although she received no formal education herself she used her late h

usband’s wealth to educate her seven children. Lord Loomba saw firsthand the strict traditions and customs imposed upon widows in India. The Loomba Foundation has sister charites incoproated in India and the United States and since its launch the Loomba Foundation has succeed in educating thousands of widows children all over India and partnered with organisations such as Barnardos, Oxfam, Virgin Unite, The Prince's Youth Business International.
