LAST WEEK OF SUMMER CAMP & WE’RE GOING OUT WITH A BANG! 🔥☀️

Today was a FULL DAY OUT at Stubbers Adventure Centre and what a day it was! 🚌🧗‍♂️🏖️🌳

A MASSIVE shoutout and thank you to J & N Waste Limited for sponsoring our coach and helping us give the children such an amazing summer experience! 🙌🏾💚

Your support made today possible, and we truly appreciate you investing in our young people and helping us create memories they’ll be talking about for a long time!

The kids had an absolute BLAST! From rock climbing 🧗🏾‍♀️, beach fun 🏖️, activities and adventures, to enjoying the park; they were busy, active and smiling ALL DAY! 😍

And of course, we had to keep everybody fuelled! 😋🥪

Lunch was fully loaded with sandwiches, drinks, crisps, cookies, fruit and plenty more to keep those energy levels UP! 🧃🍪🍎

This is what summer camp is all about, new experiences, big adventures, friendships, laughter and unforgettable memories! 💙

After a busy week at Summer Camp, Fridays are all about slowing things down, getting creative and enjoying some good weather.

This week, our young people took over the pavement outside Dovetail with chalk, creating some amazing artwork and adding a little colour to the community. 🌈
A simple way to keep everyone occupied, get creative and enjoy being outside together.

What an amazing day! 🤩 Today we headed to Beckton for a fun-filled trip to the trampoline park, and it definitely didn’t disappoint!

From the moment we set off, the adventure had already begun, travelling together on the train and DLR 🚆 before arriving ready for an afternoon packed with bouncing, jumping, laughter and LOTS of energy! 🤸‍♀️💨

The children had an absolute blast, challenged themselves, tried new things and certainly tired themselves out along the way! 😂 After all that action, we enjoyed our packed lunches together before squeezing in even more fun.

A brilliant day filled with big smiles, new experiences and great memories with friends. 💛

Now it’s time to recharge… because Summer Camp continues tomorrow! 🙌☀️

Juice Making at Summer Camp! 🥭🍍

Nothing beats a fresh, refreshing juice on a hot summer’s day! ☀️🧃

Our young people got hands-on with our juice-making activity, choosing their own favourite fruits, cutting them up and creating their very own fresh juice combinations. 🍎🍊🍓🍉

The best part? They got to taste their creations and experiment! If they weren’t a fan of their first mix, they could head back and make another one. 🧃

It was a fun way to learn about fresh fruit, try new flavours and enjoy something they made themselves. And yes… the freshly squeezed juice went down VERY well! 😋🧃

🎭✨ Storytelling, creativity & imagination at Summer Camp!

Our young people stepped into the world of drama and storytelling! 🎬

They started by creating their very own characters, thinking about who they are, their personalities, their backgrounds and what makes them unique.

From there, we explored the Story Mountain and looked at how every great story has a beginning, a build-up, a problem or turning point, and ultimately, a resolution. 📖⛰️

The young people got to see how characters, ideas and imagination can all come together to create a story that keeps people engaged.

It was amazing to see their creativity come to life, with so many different characters, ideas and storylines being created in the room! 🌟

Halfway there!

This week marked a huge milestone for our Step Up cohort as they reached the midway point of the programme.

Over the past six months, our participants have been developing their ideas, building their confidence, and preparing to pitch. They had the opportunity to present their vision to a panel including Petrina Joseph, Simon Hildrey & Layla Conway, showcasing just how far they’ve come.

The journey doesn’t stop here. Over the next six months, each participant will be matched with a mentor who is tailored to their goals and aspirations; someone with experience in the industry or field they’re passionate about.
Together, they’ll continue to grow, refine their ideas, and take the next steps towards making them a reality.

We’ll be back in January for our final pitching and celebration event, where we’ll celebrate everything they’ve achieved and see just how far they’ve come.
Congratulations to everyone involved. We can’t wait to see what the next six months bring!

Friday was all about slowing down, switching off and enjoying each other’s company.

We fired up the BBQ 🍔🌭, enjoyed some good food, played some games and simply chilled together after another busy week of summer camp!

It was also a chance to reflect on everything we’ve got up to so far, celebrate the friendships and memories we’ve made, and look ahead to another exciting week.

We also said some temporary goodbyes to the young people who won’t be joining us next week but don’t worry, we’ll see some of you again very soon! 🥹👋🏽

Another week of laughter, learning, new experiences and unforgettable memories in the books.

Splash Park Adventures! 🚂💦

What a day! Our young people headed off to Barking Splash Park, and what an incredible time they had! From the excitement of travelling there together on the train 🚂 to spending the day making a splash, playing in the water and trying out all the different activities, there were smiles all around! 😂💦

It was one of those days where the kids could simply let loose, have fun, make memories and enjoy being together. Everyone had an absolute blast! ❤️

Another great day at Summer Camp! 🌟

Today was all about team building, building confidence, and getting to know one another. With five exciting weeks ahead of us, we wanted to create a space where every young person feels welcomed, valued, and part of the team.

The connection in the room was incredible, and it was amazing to see new friendships beginning to form. This is just the start, and we can’t wait to see these relationships grow as we take on more adventures together! 💙
