Cherry Lodge Cancer Care is an independent charity committed to improving the quality of life for people living with cancer, their carers and families. Cancer care is currently a national priority and has been receiving increased attention under the NHS Cancer Plan. Yet there continues to be unmet need and increased demand for the services we provide. Our services focus on the provision of high qu

ality cancer support, information and complementary therapies using approaches that value practical, emotional and physical wellbeing in the friendly, relaxed atmosphere of our Centre. We also have a Home Visiting service. All our services are provided free of charge. At Cherry Lodge, we work alongside the clinical care of the NHS within a catchment area centred on Barnet and extending over much of North London and South Hertfordshire. Since joining the A5 partnership, we have strengthened our outreach service to black and minority ethnic groups.

At Cherry Lodge Cancer Care, our volunteers make a huge difference to local people living with cancer. Whether you can spare a few hours, lend a helping hand or share your skills, we’d love you to join our wonderful team!

We currently have a particular need for a GARDENER 🌱 and a MAINTENANCE Volunteer 🔧 to help keep Cherry Lodge looking its best and running smoothly.

Our volunteers play a vital role behind the scenes, helping Cherry Lodge function day-to-day so that we can continue to provide our essential services and support to local people living with cancer. Every contribution, big or small, really does make a difference.

🌿 CANCER HAIR & SKINCARE — practical advice and support

We’re so excited to have confirmed Daniel Field for this special members talk at Cherry Lodge! 💚

For over 40 years, Daniel has been a specialist in hair recovery and sensitive scalp hair colour, supporting people whose hair and skin require a higher level of care.

Daniel will share practical, evidence-informed advice on hair, scalp and skincare during and after cancer treatment, including hair regrowth, colouring, wigs, toppers and other hair options - followed by an open Q&A.

✨ Our recent Skincare Workshop with the wonderful Melanie was a great success!

Makeup Artist Melanie Daly shared expert advice on caring for skin during and after cancer treatment, helping our members feel informed and confident.

We’re delighted to be welcoming Melanie back for a Makeup Workshop soon.

Join us for a fantastic day of music, food and fundraising at the ‘Hall of Sound’ event at The Black Horse in Barnet on Saturday 11th July 2026. The fun will start at 12 noon and continue until 1am (taking advantage of extended pub opening hours following England’s progression to the World Cup quarter finals).

This event is being held in memory of Graeme Hall, raising money for three local charities: Cherry Lodge Cancer Care, Noah’s Ark and Food Bank Aid.

Enjoy live music from local artists on two stages (acoustic and electric) as well as delicious food and drinks. A charity auction will be held in the late afternoon with fantastic prizes to be won.

Bring your friends, bring your family, and let’s come together for a brilliant day packed with music and good vibes, all supporting some truly important causes.

💙 What a fantastic first Big Barnet Walk!

On Bank Holiday Monday, 25th May, over 80 walkers came together to raise vital funds so Cherry Lodge Cancer Care can continue providing free support to those affected by cancer. Together we raised £9,040!

A huge thank you to everyone who walked, donated and volunteered. From our amazing marshals to our special guests who officially opened the event, you made the day unforgettable. ☀️💙

✨ NEW at Cherry Lodge Cancer Care ✨

We're delighted to introduce Indian Head Massage sessions with Lauren, exclusively for Cherry Lodge Cancer Care members at Arte Nova salon.

Based on ancient Ayurvedic principles, Indian Head Massage is a deeply relaxing therapeutic treatment that uses acupressure and kneading techniques on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp, and face to help release tension and promote wellbeing.

Playing bridge is a great way to meet new people and have fun! It also sharpens the mind and improves memory and concentration.

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care is encouraging beginners to try a taster session at our centre on Wednesday 8th July 2026. The session will be led by Paul Wilson, English Bridge Union Qualified Professional Level Bridge Tutor.

Tickets cost £10 and include light refreshments. Proceeds to Cherry Lodge. Don’t delay – there are just 12 places available.

We are so grateful to The Worshipful the Mayor, Councillor Zahra Beg - the recently sworn in 62nd Mayor of Barnet - for visiting the Cherry Lodge Cancer Care centre (Howard House) yesterday afternoon.

It was a pleasure to show Madam Mayor around the Cherry Lodge Cancer Care centre and have the opportunity to talk about the support that we offer to our members.

We look forward to keeping Madam Mayor updated on the projects we have coming up, including a CLCC event in Everglade Practice on September 23rd, giving much-needed support to the diverse community there.
