A month ago, so many of you came together to make Fun Walk what it is - a day filled with energy, generosity and community.

From walkers and volunteers, to performers, marshals and behind-the-scenes superheroes, thank you for making the magic happen.

Most importantly, your generosity means we can continue supporting people and their family members, friends and carers around them through death, dying and grief.

Thank you for bringing the fun, the heart and the community spirit. Fun Walk simply wouldn't be Fun Walk without you💙

When Sam died at St Christopher's Hospice in 2024, her family returned to the hospice a few weeks later for their first Remembering with Ribbons event.

"We all wanted to come together as a family to hang a ribbon on the tree in the garden,” says John, Sam's daughter's partner. This summer, we invite you to celebrate the lives of the people you love by dedicating a colourful ribbon too.

Dedicate your ribbon today: https://bit.ly/4dZ9WEX

Hospice care isn’t just about death and dying.

For Eli and Maria, it’s meant reassurance at home, better pain management and support for the whole family.

Their story shows what care can look like when what matters to you truly matters to us.

To mark the end of Volunteers’ Week, we’re celebrating the amazing people who give their time to St Christopher’s 💙

Trustee Ann Kenrick - a voluntary role - cycled 300 miles from Cornwall to Camberwell in memory of her friend Marieke, raising over ÂŁ3,000 to support hospice care.

Her journey is a powerful reminder of the difference our volunteers make every day.

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re saying thank you to the many different and wonderful volunteers who support St Christopher’s in so many ways 💚

One of them is Jo, who turned her love of gardening into a way of raising more than £18,000 by opening her garden to the community. From welcoming visitors, to helping other gardeners take their first step, Jo shows that there’s no set way to volunteer, just a willingness to give your time and care.

To every volunteer who supports people, families, friends and carers at St Christopher’s: thank you. What you do really matters.

This Volunteers' Week, we wanted to share a little bit of Adou's story with you.

Adou has been volunteering as part of our Compassionate Neighbours scheme, building a wonderful friendship with Sam as they attend our regular Create and Chat sessions.

Volunteering holds so many benefits - making new connections and friends is just one of them 💙

Maureen has been volunteering with St Christopher's since 2021. She started volunteering in our wards but is now based at our Bereavement Help Point in Croydon Library.

Maureen's message this Volunteers' Week is clear: “Go ahead and do it, we need more volunteers because there’s a need out there.”
