*Flood Relief Container Successfully Dispatched to Sri Lanka*

UK Sri Lankan Community Unites in Response to Devastating Floods

Alhamdulillah, a *40-foot Flood Relief Container* organised by the *Sri Lankan community in the United Kingdom* has been successfully *loaded on 12 December 2025* and dispatched, marking a significant milestone in the collective humanitarian response to the recent devastating floods in Sri Lanka.

The container was fully loaded and departed on Saturday 12th December afternoon following days of meticulous planning, coordination, and tireless voluntary effort. Donations were gathered from communities across the UK, including *Luton, Leicester, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Harrow/Kingsbury, Watford, Aylesbury, Slough, Swansea, Crawley,Gloucester and surrounding areas.* This widespread participation reflects the strong spirit of unity, compassion, and solidarity demonstrated by communities nationwide.

This initiative was made possible through the generous support of *masjids, community centres, local organisations, shops, youth groups, coordinators, and countless individuals* who contributed essential relief items, financial support, time, and expertise. Special appreciation is extended to the local area coordinators who worked diligently to collect, sort, box, label, register, palletise, and transport the donated goods in full compliance with shipping and customs clearance requirements.

We also acknowledge the invaluable efforts of the warehouse and logistics teams, forklift operators, freight and shipping partners, media volunteers, and all brothers and sisters who participated in late night packing sessions and the container loading on the day of dispatch.

This successful shipment stands as a powerful example of what can be achieved when communities come together beyond borders to support those in need. The relief items will, inshaAllah, reach affected families in Sri Lanka and provide much needed assistance during this challenging time.
