What difference does being part of Open Age make? πŸ’›

We asked our members – and the results speak for themselves.

77% told us their wellbeing had improved.
70% said they felt part of the Open Age community.
And 94% would recommend Open Age to a friend.

Because Open Age is about much more than filling your diary. It’s about finding your people, trying something new, staying active and feeling part of a community.

Whether you come along to meet, move or learn, there’s a place for you here.

For years, Manuella has been the heart of the garden at our New Horizons Centre. She has lovingly cared for the space, welcomed new volunteers and shared her knowledge to help it flourish.

After facing significant health challenges, the garden became much more than a place to spend time. It gave her purpose, routine and something to be proud of.

"I got hooked! What I most enjoy about the garden at New Horizons is the interaction with the plants, as much as the appreciation from those who walk by - members, staff and residents."

Today, the garden is a peaceful place where members can relax, chat and enjoy being outdoors together – and it's thanks in no small part to Manuella's dedication.

Stories like Manuella's remind us that growing older doesn't mean slowing down. Sometimes it means discovering a new passion, finding your people, and helping others along the way.

Thank you, Manuella, for helping our community bloom. πŸ’›

Digital confidence can change lives. πŸ’»

As more everyday tasks move online, having the skills to navigate the digital world is becoming essential for staying independent.

At Open Age, we're helping older Londoners build confidence at their own pace – whether that's learning how to use email, accessing important apps or simply feeling more comfortable using technology.

This , we're celebrating how digital inclusion can help people stay connected, informed and independent for longer. πŸ’›

Because digital skills aren't just about technology – they're about empowering people to live life on their own terms.

A proud moment at New Horizons πŸ’›πŸ§Ά

When Denise joined our Friday crochet class, she was a complete beginner. Last week, she finished her very first project - a cat blanket! 🐱

A huge thank you to volunteer tutor Mayca, whose encouragement and support have helped Denise build her skills and confidence along the way.

Proof that it's never too late to learn something new ✨
