The Guernsey Bowel Cancer Awareness Charity was formed in 2002 and is registered with the Guernsey Association of Charities and has a management committee of seven trustees. Money raised is spent both on specialised equipment and educational initiatives – see our website for more details (www.guernseybowelcancer.org.gg). Our role is to actively promote the knowledge and understanding of bowel canc
er within the Bailiwick and to encourage people to realise that bowel cancer is preventable and treatable if caught early enough. Patron – The Bailiff of Guernsey, Sir Rowland
How You Can Help:
There are many ways you can help – we are always in needs of funds for our next project so you could:
Take part in our annual Loud Tie Day each January – this year held on Friday 27th January 2012. We ask that everyone in your workplace, school or business wears their loudest tie or scarf and gives a donation to pay for the privilege! Or why not organise a Dress down day for us? Choose the GBCAC as your Charity for the next year
Organise a fund raising event for us – how about including ties or bottoms as your theme! Nominate the GBCAC as your charity when taking part in a fun run, marathon or similar challenge
Help us when organising our next event – could you set up the raffle or help us man the bar? Sell tickets for our next event or take a table at our Quiz night
Make a bequest in your will
Give a donation instead of sending Christmas cards
