The Hackney Foodbank Providing emergency food parcels in times of need.

Hackney Foodbank provides emergency food for people in crisis or trapped in poverty. The charity is part of Trussell and visitors need a referral voucher to receive food.
If you need emergency food, please call call Help through Hardship on 0808 2082138. The line is staffed by Citizens Advice, whose friendly advisers can help you access the support you need - that may include issuing a referral

voucher to Hackney Foodbank.

Our distribution centres are in Dalston, Stoke Newington, Hoxton, Upper Clapton and Haggerston – we’re open six days a week.

We're thrilled to see Josh and Ed from the team gearing up for the epic London to Brighton road race next month! They're two of 18 team members taking on the challenge as part of their fundraising efforts for Hackney Foodbank, helping us provide emergency food and support to local people facing hardship.

It's always lovely to see the wonderful Jordan! Having grown up in Hackney and experienced poverty himself, Jordan wanted to give back to the community that raised him. Now in a better position, he's been supporting us with donations and volunteering and we are so grateful! Huge thanks to Jordan for dropping off 50kg of food donations - the equivalent to 65 emergency meals for people facing hardship and hunger.

Our amazing volunteer Helen has organised a fundraising concert featuring world-class musicians, in aid of Hackney Foodbank and the Mary Ward Legal Centre.

The concert will take place at St Giles Church in Cripplegate on Saturday 17 October at 7.30pm. Tickets are £20.

Helen, who previously worked as a caseworker at the Mary Ward Legal Centre, is a keen amateur violist and has lots of friends in the arts. She's bringing them together for this special concert to mark her 70th birthday.

Our very heartfelt thanks go to Robin Kabir and the team at who donated pens, pencils, paper and water bottles for some of our younger visitors this summer. We were able to make up 65 packs of goodies to give out at our centres! The summer holidays can feel like a mountain to climb for parents on a tight budget and having the materials to get creative can bring some relief.

We need your empty egg boxes! 🥚

In a recent survey, we asked our visitors if there was anything missing from our emergency food parcels that they’d like to see included. One of the items were fresh eggs!

We’d love to start providing eggs alongside our emergency food parcels, but we need your help. If you have any clean, empty 6-egg boxes that you can donate, please drop them off at our warehouse:

We’re supporting local families in need with lunch club vouchers, helping children access a lunch throughout the school holidays, but we need your help.
