The Hackney Foodbank

The Hackney Foodbank Providing emergency food parcels in times of need.

Hackney Foodbank provides emergency food for people in crisis or trapped in poverty. The charity is part of Trussell and visitors need a referral voucher to receive food.
If you need emergency food, please call call Help through Hardship on 0808 2082138. The line is staffed by Citizens Advice, whose friendly advisers can help you access the support you need - that may include issuing a referral

voucher to Hackney Foodbank.

Our distribution centres are in Dalston, Stoke Newington, Hoxton, Upper Clapton and Haggerston – we’re open six days a week.

We're incredibly grateful for every donation we receive 💚

Our Warehouse Manager Cameron talks through some of the most common items we're unable to accept and why.

We primarily accept in-date non-perishable food donations and toiletries. Fresh fruit and vegetables are supplied through partners including .are.felix and , helping us provide fresh produce alongside our emergency food parcels.

Thank you as always, to our amazing supporters for their unwavering support!

We're delighted to have the continued support of the wonderful team at , who help collect donations from schools running food collection drives for Hackney Foodbank. It's amazing what these bikes can carry! Yesterday, they collected 89kg of food donated by Woodberry Down Primary School - enough to provide the equivalent of 115 emergency meals for people facing hardship.

A huge thank you to everyone involved. From the pupils and staff who donated, to the team who helped transport the food, we love to see the community effort. 💚

This week, we really need:

🍍 Tinned Fruit
👶 Nappies size 4,5,6 & 7
🌸 Deodorant

Healthy food is becoming increasingly unaffordable. According to Food Foundation's latest Broken Plate report, the poorest families with children would need to spend 85% of their disposable income to afford the government-recommended healthy diet.

As more families face impossible choices, please donate if you can to help ensure we can continue providing emergency food and support to people facing hardship.

You can order via our online shop and set up a recurring donation here: https://www.hackney.foodbank.org.uk/give-food or drop off at one of the many donation points around Hackney.

Thank you for your continued support!💚

It was really lovely to welcome MP Emily Thornberry along to our Homerton warehouse last week. We talked about the work our caseworkers are doing to help people on to better situations and introduced her to the amazing Cameron who manages our warehouse and makes sure everything runs smoothly! .thornberry
