Did you know, there has been a 12% rise in children and young people getting active in gyms and fitness facilities compared to six years ago?
Generation Alpha is driving demand for fitness and health services, with a survey from ukactive and finding that many children recognise the value of being fit, healthy and active as they grow.
Today, we have published updated guidance to support operators in the physical activity sector to continue welcoming children and young people into their fitness and leisure facilities.
Titled ‘Children and Young People in Gym and Group Exercise Facilities’, the guidance was developed by experts across the field and features case studies and recommendations to help deliver services for children and young people over the age of eight.
The launch forms part of ukactive’s ‘Next Generation’ strategy to invest in the future of children and young people’s health and wellbeing by getting a million more active by 2030.
Special thanks to the public and private sector representatives on the ukactive Standards & Legislation Committee, our expert contributors and sector partners, for their support:
