We’re excited to launch our new Ageing and Caregiver Support Fund, supporting civil society organisations working with older people and caregivers across Türkiye. ✨

🔹As the first grant from the fund, we are providing £5,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association of Turkey (Türkiye Alzheimer Derneği).

The association will implement a three-month home-based care project for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Through regular visits by nurses and psychologists, the project aims to improve care quality while also reducing the emotional and psychological burden experienced by caregivers.

At Türkiye Mozaik Foundation, we believe ageing deserves stronger support systems, inclusive approaches, and community-based solutions that enable people to age with dignity, independence, and connection.

Through this fund, we aim to strengthen community-based, inclusive approaches to ageing and caregiving in Türkiye.

This fund was made possible thanks to our supporter Cakmak-Rathee Selene’s fundraising initiative in memory of her father, Atila Çakmak. Selene raised £2,500 through a five-day hike across Türkiye, and we matched her contribution 1:1 to launch the fund. We are grateful to be a bridge for supporters who initiate such meaningful and creative fundraising campaigns. 🙏🏻💙

As Türkiye prepares to host COP31 later this year, we came together online with civil society organisations and experts working in the environmental field to exchange ideas and discuss current environmental challenges and priorities in Türkiye. 🌍

Hosted by Türkiye Mozaik Foundation and the Support Foundation for Civil Society (Sivil Toplum için Destek Vakfı), the meeting brought together participants from different regions and areas of work to share their experiences, ongoing work, and perspectives from the field.

Participants also shared valuable insights and recommendations on the needs, priorities, and opportunities shaping environmental action before and after COP31, creating an important space for dialogue and shared learning ahead of the conference.

As an organisation supporting civil society initiatives addressing environmental challenges in Türkiye, we believe meaningful and locally rooted solutions can only be built through collaboration and ongoing dialogue.

We're proud to support four projects jointly with a total of 3,790,000 TL, working across Türkiye's coastal and wetland ecosystems; tackling plastic pollution, strengthening advocacy, and building long-term resilience along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts. 🌊

From bilge waste collection in Ildır, Çeşme, to legal advocacy for plastic-free coasts, from documenting the ecology of Büyük Menderes Delta to bringing together NGOs to deepen their understanding of climate negotiations ahead of COP31 in Antalya — each of these projects represents community-led action where it matters most.

Our grantee partner, Foundation for Women’s Solidarity (Kadın Dayanışma Vakfı), is strengthening local feminist networks through the “From Counselling Centres to Solidarity Networks” project.

Since the project began, key steps have included:

🔹 Needs analysis meetings with two local women’s organisations in Çanakkale and Kocaeli to map challenges, capacities, and priorities for Women’s Counselling Centre work

🔹 A training module updated with field experience, covering feminist social work principles, accessibility, and safer service provision

🔹 A two-day workshop in Çanakkale with 13 participants on counselling centre practice and case-based learning

🔹 A tailored mentorship programme launched for both organisations on counselling centre operations, case management, and feminist data practices

🔹 Ongoing work to strengthen data systems so women’s experiences are better reflected in services and advocacy

This work is helping build stronger local solidarity networks and more sustainable, rights-based support systems for women across Türkiye.

Access to essential services and safe spaces continues to be critical for communities affected by the earthquakes — and KOVED is working to ensure no one is left behind. 💜

Building on the impact of our previous support, Women’s Life Centres in Adana and Hatay have already reached over 4,000 women and children.

Today, in collaboration with Samandağ Women's Solidarity Association, KOVED’s work in Samandağ is expanding this impact by supporting people with disabilities and their caregivers through inclusive activities, psychosocial support, and access to vital services.

We also participated in the Stardust Anatolia Connect gathering, which brought together 1,000 young women and men for panels, talks and networking.

During our visit, we had the opportunity to hear about their ongoing work with children, youth, and women. We listened to their experiences from the field, the challenges they face, and the resilience that drives their efforts every day.

We learned directly from their expertise and were inspired by their dedication to strengthening communities. These insights are vital for us, as they help shape our future work and strategy to better support the needs on the ground.

Access to culture and the arts creates space for young people to express themselves, connect, and heal — and Talebeyiz Biz Association continues to make this possible in Hatay. 🎭

Building on the impact of our previous support, the second phase of the Art Ambassadors model will bring young people and artists together in Arsuz to co-create new works and strengthen youth leadership in cultural production.

Named after the only female figure on Mount Nemrut, the Fortuna Women’s Network is bringing women together to heal, lead, and rebuild.

From workshops to advocacy, Çember Sivil İnisiyatif Derneği is showing that when women gather, they don’t just find their voices — they shape their city’s future.

Teachers play a vital role in strengthening rural education — and the Rural Schools Transformation Network (KODA - Köy Okulları Değişim Ağı) continues to support them where it matters most. 🌱

With our previous grant, teachers in rural communities led social-emotional learning activities that strengthened classroom practices and well-being for students, families, and educators alike.

Building on this impact, KODA will now deliver its core teacher training in earthquake-affected areas, supporting 400 teachers through workshops and online sessions. The program will help rebuild student–teacher trust and contribute to long-term recovery in rural communities.
