Punitive laws and prison systems affect people behind bars as well as their families. Too often, they're also excluded from policy debates. We are proud to co-organise this event on the margins of the UN to centre families of people deprived of liberty as rights holders and key actors in building safety and social reintegration.

Through testimonies, youth voices and a documentary video, this discussion will highlight why criminal legal systems must uphold , including in relation to imprisonment.
