🌊 Treasures of the Tide brought our community together to celebrate journeys across oceans, across generations, and the barriers we've overcome along the way. ✨

🐢The streets of Ilford were filled with colour, music, creativity and smiling faces as people of all ages came together for our annual parade. From giant silk waves and vibrant sea creatures to samba drumming, banners and community messages, every moment helped tell a story.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, took part in our workshops, wore their brightest colours, and helped make the day so special.

🌟 We held a wonderful Here We Share session with Redbridge Forum, and it was full of creativity, connection and brilliant conversations

These free creative activities help bring our community together - offering a welcoming space to talk about what matters in your life here in Redbridge.

In every session, we explore aspirations, hopes, dreams and memories. Sharing memories is especially important to us; they help us discover what makes Redbridge and its community so special, unique and full of heart

This session was bursting with great dreams, thoughtful reflections and inspiring ideas. A huge thank you to everyone who took part - your voices truly shape what comes next

Here We Share workshops are free, creative community sessions where people come together to meet new faces, enjoy tasty treats, and share what truly matters about life in Redbridge

Last week we visited Manford Primary School, where students shared something they’ve always wanted to try 💭💫 We absolutely loved hearing their dreams, ideas and the things that make Redbridge such a special place.

The seasons may be changing, but we’re still thinking about Treasures of the Tide! This beautiful parade gave us unforgettable memories, vibrant colours and so many joyful moments!

Did you head down to the parade? We’d love to hear your favourite memories - the giant sea turtle, the beautiful batik fish, the samba beats, the community energy… tell us what made the day special for you!

For us, the best part was the incredible community spirit - seeing everyone come together for a parade bursting with colour, good vibes, music and creativity.

Treasures of the Tide, our annual street parade, was all about journeys across oceans, generations and overcoming barriers and the Redbridge community showed up with colour, joy and community spirit!

There was so much happening behind the scenes to bring this spectacular event to life. We were busy hosting tie-dye workshops, designing and making silk batik fish, rehearsing samba beats and setting up the route - every element of the parade was led by local community members and groups.

This time last week our giant turtle was gliding through the streets, our shimmering silk fish were dancing, and Ilford came alive with community spirit

Last Thursday, 20 talented young artists from Redbridge displayed their work at the Portfolio showcase, marking the end of Colours of Redbridge’s free summer creative development programme for 16-25 year olds.

Portfolio supported participants to explore their creativity, build digital skills and get early insight into real pathways in the creative industries with the help of masterclasses, practical workshops and visits to world-class creative organisations.

The showcase was hosted by the amazing and , both of whom grew up in the area. We were also joined by the amazing masterclass leaders Almass Badat , Compiler, Jeremy N Cole, Kareem Abdul and True Cadence

Huge congratulations to everyone involved - your hard work and imagination truly stood out ✨

The artwork will be displayed in Redbridge Libraries later this year and applications for 2027 will open in the new year. Watch this space!
