Planet Earth Institute

Planet Earth Institute The Planet Earth Institute (PEI) is an international NGO and charity working for the scientific independence of Africa. Join us!

While other emerging regions have invested heavily in science and technology, Africa is falling behind in the race for scientific development. And we want that to change, fast. All of our work is built around the three pathways we believe will help led Africa to scientific independence: Higher Education, Technological Innovation and Policy and Advocacy. In other words, that means supporting higher

education institutions and establishing a network of PhD Centres, mapping and understand how the continent’s technology-boom can drive scientific learning and campaigning for a science-led development agenda with all those working with and in Africa.

Our Story

The Planet Earth Institute (PEI) is an international NGO and charity committed to accelerating science and technology in Africa. We convene a diverse range of international experts from business, academia, policy and civil society and explore pressing challenges and opportunities facing the continent.

We are committed to finding new ways to better connect the organisations and individuals working in and for Africa, supporting and facilitating enhanced collaboration and impact on the ground.

Focused on five key areas of agribusiness, water and sanitation, public health and blue-sky science, we achieve our mission through our prestigious event series, the PEI Partners Forum, and with our newly launched online platform, the PEI exChange.
