New research on private dance schools for children and young people in England has now
been published by Arts Council England, carried out by the University of Bedfordshire.

The report covers more than 5,200 schools and offers the clearest picture yet of the sector,
looking at access, training, safeguarding and the challenges providers face.
The findings reveal a larger and more varied sector than many may have expected, as well
as increasing financial pressures for providers.

The countdown to Grand Finals 2026 is on ⏰

As we look ahead to this year's competition, we're spotlighting one of last year's competitors, Rusty.

Rusty started dancing in 2024 at a SEND class at Dynamite School of Dance, taught by Sarah Louise Reed. We spoke to him and his mum about his journey into dance and performing at Grand Finals.
Competing in the Adapted Section at Grand Finals 2025 gave him the opportunity to dance alongside other young people with additional needs, and a real sense of belonging.
