The Andy ‘Thunderclap’ Newman Memorial Fund has been set up to help promising young musicians from low-income families continue their musical education and fulfil their potential. This goal would be close to Andy’s heart and will be a lasting legacy to his name. w.futuretalent.org) supports gifted young musicians from across the UK, aged between 5 and 18 years, who, due to financial hardship, low aspiration and lack of opportunity would otherwise struggle to realise their musical potential. It is estimated that, as a result of deprivation, between 600 and 1000 children with exceptional musical abilities are lost to our society every year.’
Donations will be forwarded from Andy’s Memorial Fund to ‘Future Talent’ and earmarked to support particular genres of music such as jazz, rock, etc., or provide bursaries for selected instrumentalists. This will of course depend on the amount of money available so please give generously to …
