Young People Matter [YPM] YPM is a registered charity working to transform communities specifically through youth work, helping young people to unlock their true potential.

We offer opportunities for personal growth through which young people can develop life skills, confidence and self esteem. YPM act as advocates on behalf of and alongside young people in challenging the inequalities and prejudices arising from their experiences.

Day 1 of our youth residential 🙌

What a start! First day, first session focused on life skills including learning how to make our beds (who knew it could be this much fun? 😄).

We spent the day getting settled and enjoying the countryside with 14 amazing young people 🌿

In the evening, we gathered around the bonfire, toasted marshmallows, and shared some great moments together 🔥

Wrapped up the night with our evening camp activities a perfect end to a brilliant first day.

Can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings! 💫

At our Mondays Seniors Lunch Club we had such a beautiful celebration for Mother’s Day and International Women’s Day. 💐

It was a day filled with love, laughter, and inspiration as we shared our talents and honoured women throughout history who have made a lasting impact on the world. From stories of strength and courage to creative expressions of their gifts, the room was full of appreciation for the power of women supporting women. And a beautiful poem by Clair one of the trustee of YPM

One of our wonderful ladies, who has a talent for sewing, lovingly made the founder of YPM a beautiful skirt with a matching headband. Such a thoughtful and heartfelt gift that truly reflects the spirit of our community creativity, kindness, and celebration of one another. ✨

Moments like these remind us how powerful it is when women come together to uplift, encourage, and celebrate each other. What a truly special day it was.

19 Years of Young People Matter

In 2007, Young People Matter began in my living room. It was just an idea a simple but powerful vision to support young people and make a difference in their lives.

Nineteen years later, that small idea has grown into something far greater than I ever imagined. We have supported thousands of children, young people, and families, and have become part of a wider community built on care, trust, and opportunity.

This journey has never been about one person. It has always been about a team dedicated staff, volunteers, supporters, and partners who have given their time, energy, and belief to make this vision a reality. Thank you for your commitment, your compassion, and the countless hours you have invested.

To the families who have trusted us and allowed us to be part of their children’s lives thank you. Your trust means everything. Watching young people grow in confidence, resilience, and hope is the greatest privilege.

Nineteen years on, our purpose remains the same: to empower, uplift, and stand alongside young people as they shape their futures.

Here’s to the journey so far and to the many more lives we will impact in the years ahead.
