Last month two members of our Alumni Network, Lawson and Elijah, went to the Future Leaders Network Y20 focus group. ⭐

The session gathered perspectives on five major global themes: the economy and jobs, energy, innovation, conflict, and health. 🌍

This will help inform UK policy recommendations shared with the Cabinet Office, parliamentarians, and civil servants. 🏛️

We’re delighted to share that we’ve received a renewed grant from the Jack Petchey Foundation for our Talk About The Future workshop for 2026/27.

What began as a pilot in 2020/21 will now enter its seventh year, helping young people across London and Essex develop their interview and employability skills so they can look to their future with confidence!

We’re incredibly grateful to the Jack Petchey Foundation for their continued support, and we’re looking forward to working with even more young people in the year ahead.

Our Grand Final season is almost here!🏆 We can't wait to celebrate the incredible achievements of the young people taking part in our partner programmes!

Our latest impact report found that 155,328 young people took part in our partner programmes in the previous academic year! This would not be possible without the huge efforts, energy and passion of the partner organisations we work with! ⭐

We are delighted to launch the Jack Petchey Places & Spaces Fund, a major £2 million investment to improve and transform spaces for young people across London and Essex.

Created in honour of our founder, Sir Jack Petchey CBE, it is an addition to our annual investment of over £10.7m in grants and programmes. The new fund will support youth organisations and uniformed groups to refurbish, upgrade and reimagine the places where young people learn, connect, build confidence and develop their voice.

With the importance of place-based investment in young people and their communities being highlighted in the Government’s Youth Matters strategy, which emphasised the need for safe, inclusive and high-quality local spaces that strengthen belonging, participation and opportunity for young people, we feel we can make a real difference with this fund.

Over the next two years, the Places & Spaces Fund will award grants between £5,000 and £25,000 to eligible organisations currently delivering the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme.

Youth Voice is a core principle of the Foundation and will be central to this fund too. We believe young people should help shape the spaces designed for them. We will encourage this happens through the application process, and how we as a Foundation select which applications are successful through dialogue with our wonderful Youth Consultation Panel members.

We are now open to Expressions of Interest, and youth organisations and uniformed groups can apply and find out more here: https://www.jackpetcheyfoundation.org.uk/jack-petchey-places-spaces-fund/

Today, we say a heartfelt thank you to Ron Mills MBE as he retires from his role as Trustee of the Jack Petchey Foundation.

Ron has played an extraordinary role in shaping the Foundation as we know it today. Back in 1999, he worked alongside Sir Jack to help establish the charity, bringing not only his expertise but a shared belief in supporting young people to realise their potential.

For over two decades, Ron served as Chair of the Board of Trustees (1999–2022), guiding the Foundation with dedication, integrity, and a clear vision. Even after stepping down as Chair, he remained a hugely active and committed Trustee.

Ron, thank you for your unwavering commitment, your wisdom, and your belief in young people. You have been an integral part of the Jack Petchey Foundation story and we are incredibly grateful.

It was inspiring to hear about how young people in Southend are making an impact in their communities through dedication, hard work and a drive to make positive change! ✨

We were also very lucky to have five amazing performances by Southend High School For Girls, The St Christopher School, Chase High School, Southchurch High School and Shoeburyness High School 🎶
