Diabetic donor tissue and DMEK: the data is reassuring đź“Švia ESCRS EuroTimes

The Diabetes Endothelial Keratoplasty Study (DEKS) has shown that DMEK for uncomplicated corneal endothelial dysfunction achieves very high one-year success rates, irrespective of whether the tissue donor had diabetes.

At a time of global donor tissue shortage, these findings could meaningfully expand the usable donor pool.
