The best reminder is our own example. Our children are far more likely to follow our footsteps than our words.

The journey to salah is not just a journey from one place to another. Every step matters.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Whoever purifies himself in his house, then walks to one of the houses of Allah to perform an obligatory prayer, one step will wipe away a sin and another will raise him a degree." (Sahih Muslim)

Think about that the next time you walk to the masjid.

You are not wasting time. You are walking towards Allah, one step at a time.

For over 35 years, Noor Ul Islam has been building far more than a masjid.

Since 1990, Alhamdulillah, it has grown into a place of education, youth development, community support and partnership.

From our schools and Alimiyyah classes to madrassah, community projects and activities for young people, the vision has always been the same: to serve the community beyond the five daily prayers.

But the next chapter could be even bigger.

A library. A coffee shop. Educational classes. Youth activities. Separate fitness spaces for brothers and sisters. Opportunities for our community to learn, connect and grow together.

With Allah's permission and your support, the future of Noor Ul Islam can be even stronger than its past.

The solar eclipse is more than a remarkable sight — it is one of the signs of Allah and an opportunity to turn back to Him in remembrance, prayer and du’a.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of anyone’s death or life. When you see the eclipse, invoke Allah, pray, give Sadaqah, and make du’a.” [Muslim]

As we witness the eclipse, let us use these moments to remember the greatness of Allah, seek His forgiveness, make sincere du’a and give in charity.

We won't be performing the Salah al Kusuf (Sunnah eclipse prayer) in congregation at the Masjid today

Noor Ul Islam is more than a masjid. It’s a home for the community.

From Alimiyyah classes and Madrassah to weekly sisters’ gatherings, so much already happens here. Alhamdulillah, we’ve come a long way, but there is still more to complete.

The next stages will allow these essential services to return under one roof and serve our community for generations to come, insha’Allah.

The sun is out & the days are still beautiful and long - and with the summer holidays we'd love to see you all attend the Masjid regularly and build a beautiful relationship with the house of Allah 💚
