Thanks to Asda and all the community champions based in Asda stores.

We take our role as a responsible alcohol retailer very seriously and will always refuse a sale if we believe a customer is buying it for someone who is under 18 years old.

We're proud to support Community Alcohol Partnerships' relationship with Boston Borough Council, local schools and Boston Police.

Partnership working is at the heart of safer town centres.

It was great to join Torquay Police, Torbay Council's community safety team and Torbay Street Pastors for an evening walkabout in Torquay, speaking directly with businesses and staff about their experiences and listening to their concerns.

These conversations are invaluable. By working together and hearing first-hand what helps people feel safe on a night out, partners can identify practical ways to make a positive difference. It was also encouraging to hear praise for the strong collaboration between security teams across the town centre.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with with the team. Strong partnerships and open conversations help create safer and more welcoming communities for everyone.

Members of our community safety team recently spent an evening doing a walkabout of Torquay town centre premises, with other agencies including Torquay Police, the Community Alcohol Partnerships and Torbay Street Pastors so they could speak to businesses and staff and listen to their concerns.

You told us what would make the town centre safer for people on a night out. You also gave us some positive feedback about how individual security teams work well together.

Thanks to everyone who spoke to us. We’re looking at all the recommendations to see where we can make improvements.

Across the UK, Community Alcohol Partnerships are using the power of football to engage young people, build confidence and create positive opportunities.

From after-school sessions and girls' teams to community tournaments and mentoring, these projects are about much more than what happens on the pitch. They help young people develop friendships, learn new skills and feel part of their community.

Because football isn't just a game. It's a way to connect, inspire and support young people to make positive choices.

If you are part of a CAP we'd love to see your football related activities!

If you stay in we would love your opinions about young people and alcohol in your community. Scan the QR code below.

Positive partnerships are at the heart of effective licensing. We're proud that CAP is recognised alongside initiatives such as National Pubwatch, Best Bar None, Drinkaware and The Portman Group as examples of how collaboration between businesses, councils, police and communities can help reduce alcohol harm and create safer places for everyone. What do Community Alcohol Partnerships actually look like in action?

The answer is as varied as the communities they serve.

From football festivals and creative projects to youth activities, education and retailer engagement, CAPs across the UK are bringing partners together to tackle underage drinking and anti-social behaviour while creating opportunities for young people to thrive.

This blog by Alan Simpson, one of our Regional Advisers shines a spotlight on some of the many ways local partnerships are making a positive difference, proving that when communities work together, lasting change is possible.

Alan Simpson, CAP Regional Adviser, shares his thoughts on why CAPs make a difference.

What if tackling anti-social behaviour started with a spray can and a conversation?

In Ivybridge, Devon, young people are transforming graffiti hotspots into spaces for creativity, thanks to a project supported by the CAP Innovation Fund.

Working alongside local partners, the project has given young people the chance to learn new skills, express themselves and build positive relationships with trusted adults, helping to reduce anti-social behaviour and create stronger communities.

Read our blog by Regional Adviser Annie Ashford-Barden to discover how creativity is making a real difference in Devon.
