Some moments stay with us long after they have passed.
From 17–21 June, Oxo Gallery became a place of quiet reflection as visitors gathered to witness the creation of a traditional Tibetan sand mandala. Grain by grain, the monks transformed coloured sand into an intricate work of art, inviting conversations about patience, compassion and impermanence.
Throughout the week, Pure Land Foundation Founder Bruno Wang joined the opening and closing ceremonies, hosted a guided meditation and welcomed visitors to explore the festival through moments of reflection, including a community breath work session by
What made the week so memorable was not only the mandala itself, but the people it brought together. Stories were shared, strangers became friends and many visitors returned, drawn back by the sense of peace they had found within the gallery.
Although the mandala has now returned to nature, the reflections it inspired continue.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this year’s Buddhist Arts & Culture Festival such a meaningful experience.
