Designing a future where everybody belongs.
On Stephen Lawrence Day, we partnered with The King’s Trust at the South London Centre to bring together young people, leaders and organisations for an open and honest conversation about what it takes to build more inclusive, connected communities.
Attended by Baroness Doreen Lawrence, the session created space for reflection, dialogue and action. From a moment of reflection honouring Stephen’s life and legacy, to a collaborative roundtable centred on youth voice and lived experience, the focus was clear.
SLDF beneficiaries were also in the room, sharing their experiences and perspectives, bringing real insight into what opportunity, support and belonging look like in practice.
How do we design and build spaces where everyone belongs?
How do we create environments rooted in safety, inclusion and connection?
Through shared perspectives from young people, industry leaders and policymakers, the conversation highlighted the importance of listening, learning and working together to create meaningful change.
A huge thank you to those who made the day possible:
The King's Trust team for hosting the day co-designing the event. And their young ambassadors for taking the lead in the round table discussion.
Katie Aston at the Home Office for her convening powers.
Helen Taylor from Scott Brownrigg for chairing the round table discussion.
SLDF Alumni Stephanie Edwards and Tendai Mutyasera for co-charing the roundtable.
Young ambassadors and Abby Lomas from Bee N Spired for roundtable participation.
Sarah Jones, Minister for Policing and Crime, for participation on the day.
This is what Every Future Needs a Foundation looks like in action.
