One of the highlights for Milly has been getting a behind-the-scenes insight into different sports, hearing from athletes and coaches and learning from their experiences.

And being at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games has given her the chance to experience elite sport from a completely different perspective, rather than just watching it on TV!

GB Flag Football athlete Jess Anderson shares her experience of being part of Team England Futures.

From taking part in workshops to making the most of every learning opportunity, Jess has been is determined to use what she’s learnt from the programme to develop her skills both on and off the field.

Jess also hopes the experience will help her manage the nerves she usually feels in competition, saying that she already feels like “a better athlete” as a result of being part of the programme!

At this year’s Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, Team England Futures discus para-athlete Adam Rutter shares why having para sport and able-bodied sport on the same stage is so important. 💭

For Adam, competing as part of a fully integrated Games means more people are discovering para sport, reaching audiences who may never have watched or even known about it before.

Greater visibility leads to greater understanding, recognition and inspiration, helping to showcase the incredible talent, dedication and performances of para athletes.

Team England Futures 2026 🤩

Delivered by SportsAid in partnership with Commonwealth Games England and Sport England, the programme brought together the next generation of athletes, coaches and support staff at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games to learn, connect and prepare for the biggest moments of their sporting journeys.

Through workshops, mentoring and shared experiences across sports, participants gained the confidence, knowledge and connections that will help them thrive at future multi-sport Games and beyond.

We're incredibly proud to play a role in supporting these talented individuals at such an important stage of their development, and we can't wait to see where their journeys take them next.

A special afternoon celebrating 50 years of backing the next generation. ✨

Last week, as the sporting world came together in Glasgow during the Commonwealth Games, we were proud to welcome partners, supporters, athletes and friends to our 50th Anniversary Reception.

Hosted at The Western Club, the event brought together people from across British sport for an afternoon of conversation, reflection and celebration.

We heard from a panel discussing the importance of major multi-sport Games in an athlete's journey, the future of the next generation of talent, and the role SportsAid has played in helping athletes fulfil their potential over the past five decades.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone and for continuing to support the next generation of British sporting talent. Here's to the next 50 years. 💙
