Happy World Sea Turtle Day ๐Ÿข

Sea turtles have survived for over 100 million years, outlasting dinosaurs and mass extinctions. But right now, five out of seven sea turtle species are threatened with extinction, and plastic pollution is a big reason why.

Across Commonwealth waters these ancient creatures are swimming through seas increasingly choked with plastic, and that has to change.

That's why we launched the Commonwealth Clean Oceans Plastics Campaign in Partnership with Commonwealth Sport and The King's Baton Relay. The Commonwealth Clean Oceans Plastics Campaign brings together people across 56 nations to remove 1 million pieces of plastic from Commonwealth waters, one clean-up at a time.

Find out more, host your own clean-up, or donate to help us go further. Link in bio. ๐ŸŒŠ
