This is a not a simple yes or no answer but we’ll explore some of the arguments and points around this topic, absent father are a factor but not the only factor. Rising knife crime is a multi-factorial problem that we in society caused by many things.

For sure we know as a society, the presence of a father is a very important role played within the family unit.

Children develop “attachment” from a very early stage of develop and this attachment plays a critical role in how your child will grow and respond to real world problems. In this topic, if our children do not get that attachment or miss out of that attachment, for this example their fathers, this opens up them to world of exploitation from other ‘attachment models” like gang leaders leading to criminality.

We like to shy about about mental health, but a lot of absent father suffer from mental health issues caused by some level of trauma from their own past. That level of trauma can be traced back from many generations prior to that particular father,

Do you think father are included enough during the parenting system from a early stage ? What are the expectations of fathers ? Can fathers be supported a little more so they understand their role a bit fairer?
