**ONLINE WORKSHOPS***
More writers in our group could use an introduction to the core elements of fiction writing. We discuss them a bit in our workshops but every writer deploys some more naturally than others. If you could use more information, join Fiction Fundamentals for online workshops focused on breaking down three elements at a time.

Starts Wednesday, February 4th.
https://www.meetup.com/londonwriterscafe/events/311973451/

For those unsure, the core elements are:

Character
Point-of-View (POV)
Voice
Conflict
Structure
Pace
Place
World-Building
Theme
Style
Language
Tone

Do you know how to work with every element in your storytelling? If not, join us and witness your writing improve. You don't have to attend every session - you can attend only one or two or all four. Each one is booked individually as a pick n' mix of fiction writing techniques. Tickets are £12 per session.

IMPORTANT FRAUD NOTICE

An organisation calling itself London Writers Cafe book club is approaching authors using my name and asking to be paid upfront for an 'Author Spotlight' promotion. They are using my name but asking for CFO (fake!) to be paid to a bank account at Clear Junction Ltd. THIS IS A SCAM. I never ask authors to pay to be promoted via our channels or events.

If you, or someone you know, receives an email approach from this email address, pretending to me and asking to be paid for promotion DO NOT respond in any way. Please private message me via Meetup about the approach. I have reported this fraud to police today.

If you see anyone posting about this scam online, please could you let me know directly. I suspect authors will be asking each other about it online. Luckily, a couple of canny authors came to me direct to ask me to verify the approach. I'm raging that a scammer can try and take advantage of authors using my name and our community's reputation. UGH.

Many thanks,
Lisa

I can’t wait for you to meet Hannah Sheppard on August 19th in our exclusive Q&A.

Tickets are £15 to create an event that’s affordable to most writers. I’m expecting more than 25 to attend but please do spread the word to any fiction writers you know who’ve never met an agent before now. It’s going to be so fun!

We’ll be at a lovely venue near Holborn station for the evening. Book your spot via link in our bio.

Our workshops gather from across the city. We meet twice a month where three writers share a piece of 3,500words (or less) and we spend 45mins discussing each one. Every session is moderated by to ensure a safe space for all.

After each session, we grab a drink or two to wind down.

If you’re looking for quality, constructive feedback from other writers, join us. Next sessions - June 30th, July 29th and August 26th with more dates to be announced. New writers always welcome.

Where is your head at? What’s your coping strategy for rejections? Do you have all the correct materials? Have you thought through your approach? Do you know which publishers are the best fit for you? What kind of publishers exist for your genre? Which paths to publishing might you take? So many questions we will answer together.

Plus, we will have an exclusive feedback session where you can share your submission materials for responses from your peers and tutor.

Led by and alas spaces will be limited so booking advised sharpish. Ticket £45 in the most beautiful Georgian building with unlimited tea, coffee and soft drinks on offer. Bring a writer friend and make a day of it!
