We’re delighted to share the work of our Artist in Residence, Bec Wonders 🎉

Over the past two months at The Clay Garden, Bec has been creating a collection of ceramic vessels inspired by local histories and stories connected to Twickenham and Strawberry Hill House. Drawing from figures such as Horace Walpole and the origins of Gothic fiction, the works explore how stories, myths, and memories can be preserved through objects.

Each vessel is richly decorated with imagery and patterns that reference a specific local tale, accompanied by a written text revealing the story behind the piece. Through ceramics, Bec brings together historical research, storytelling, and craftsmanship, inviting us to see familiar places through a new lens.

The collection will be on display during Open Studios this weekend, offering a chance to experience the work up close, discover the stories behind each piece, and explore our creative community.

For one weekend only, our studio will be opening its doors as part of Richmond Open Studios.

Come and discover a beautiful collection of handmade ceramic works created by the talented makers of The Clay Garden. From sculptural pieces and functional pottery to one-of-a-kind artworks, this is a chance to see the work up close, meet the artists behind it, and explore the creative space where it all happens.

Celebrate Father’s Day with a meaningful hands-on experience in clay.

This June, we’re hosting a series of special pottery sessions across our Twickenham and Hammersmith studios, designed for slowing down, creating together, and making something truly personal by hand.

✨ FATHER’S DAY POTTERY EXPERIENCE
For adults & beginners
Sunday 21st June | 2-4 PM
£80 p.p

A relaxed two-hour pottery wheel session with complimentary bubbles, guided throwing, decorating and glazing included.
Perfect as a thoughtful Father’s Day gift or a creative experience to share together.

✨ DISCOVERY SESSIONS ✨
A 4-hour immersive ceramic experience in our Hammersmith & Twickenham studios ♥️

Always wanted to try pottery but didn’t know where to start?
Our Discovery Sessions are the perfect introduction to the world of ceramics - a relaxed, creative experience designed for complete beginners as well as those wanting to reconnect with clay ✨

During this 4-hour session, you’ll explore both main ceramic techniques:
🌿2 hours of hand-building
🌿2 hours of wheel throwing

With guidance from our experienced tutors, you’ll learn how to shape, build and throw your own unique ceramic pieces, and experience the calming, grounding magic of working with clay.

Expect a warm studio atmosphere, plenty of creativity, a complimentary glass of wine 🍷 and the excitement of making something completely by hand.

By the end of the class, you’ll have created your very own handmade ceramic pieces to keep forever ✨
