📸Out of this world—one of the most extraordinary experiences of my travels.
Standing in the Danakil Depression, Ethiopia, felt like stepping onto another planet. Known as one of the hottest and most inhospitable places on Earth, this geological wonder is a landscape of vivid mineral deposits, acidic pools, salt formations, and hydrothermal activity shaped by powerful forces beneath the Earth’s crust.
Temperatures regularly soar above 40°C, creating conditions so extreme that few forms of life can survive. Yet its surreal colors and ever-changing terrain reveal the raw beauty of our planet in its most elemental form.
Exploring the Danakil Depression was a humbling reminder of Earth’s incredible diversity—a place where nature pushes the boundaries of what seems possible.
