The NUJ has joined the IFJ in condemning the continued targeting of journalists by Israeli forces in both Palestine and Lebanon and calling for urgent independent investigations.
Laura Davison, NUJ general secretary, said: "Civilians, including journalists, are entitled to protection under the Geneva Convention, and these attacks clearly violate international law."
During a debate in Westminster earlier this month, John McDonnell, MP for Hayes and Harlington and NUJ parliamentary group secretary, urged the UK government to join other nations in collecting evidence of war crimes committed by Israeli forces.
The NUJ has joined the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) and the Union of Journalists of Lebanon (UJL) in condemning continued targeted attacks on journalists in Palestine and Lebanon by Israeli forces.
