Little Village HQ

Little Village HQ Network of baby banks passing on pre-loved clothes & equipment to help give London's 0-5-year-olds the essentials they need

Little Village supports families with babies and children under five living in poverty across London. We run a baby bank network, collecting, sorting and passing on pre-loved clothes and equipment. Parents are also supported by our dedicated signposting and guidance team, who offer advice and links to other services. In addition, we work with families to share their stories and campaign to fix the

systems that trap them in poverty. We are based in London, with hubs in Camden, Wandsworth, Brent, Hackney and Hounslow. Since we launched in 2016, we’ve supported over 25,000 children across London. Our values of love, solidarity, thriving and sustainability underpin everything we do.

A box of donations. A whole world of possibilities. 🌍 💛

At Little Village, we know that every item can make a difference.

For a three-year-old boy, a pair of trainers means running and playing.

A blanket means cosy bedtime stories.

Books and toys mean imagination and adventure.

A warm jacket means comfort on cooler mornings.

And everyday essentials like clothes, wipes and eating utensils can make family life that little bit easier.

These aren't just donations. They're the things that help a child feel comfortable, cared for and ready to be a child.

And that's why every box we pack is thoughtful and bespoke, carefully put together around the individual needs of each child and family.

Because behind every item is a child. 💚

The real impact isn’t measured in pounds or numbers. 💛

It’s a parent feeling less alone.

A newborn leaving hospital with the essentials they need.

A family getting a little breathing space during a difficult time.

In 2025, the essential items we shared with families would have cost almost £3.5 million to buy new.

But what matters most is what those items meant to the families receiving them: practical support when they needed it most.

And our support went beyond our baby banks.

👶 684 emergency newborn packs were delivered to hospitals across London in 2025, providing vital essentials to babies born into families who had little or nothing prepared for their arrival.

Behind every number is a family. A parent. A baby. A moment when someone was there to help.

That’s the power of sharing what we have — and of coming together so families don’t have to face difficult moments alone.

Thank you to everyone who donates, volunteers, fundraises and supports Little Village. We couldn’t do what we do without you. 💛

A lovely moment captured of a mother and daughter volunteering together at our Little Village warehouse in Wandsworth.

There’s something special about giving your time together — and we love how passing on pre-loved essentials can bring families closer while helping other families too.

If you could bring one person along for a day of volunteering, who would it be? 👇

💛 Meet Renata and Tomasz.

Renata joined Little Village in 2021. When Tomasz wasn't happy in his office job (especially having to wear suits, which really isn't him – even on their wedding day!), she suggested he start volunteering at Little Village. When the opportunity came up to apply for a role, he didn't think twice.

"I can honestly say he is much happier here than he was before. Working at Little Village is not just about having a job; it is about having a purpose, and that changes the whole story."

Working together has brought its own joys.

"One of the biggest positives is that we can support each other when things feel difficult, especially when we have to make hard decisions at work, such as not having all the items we would like to offer a family. Because we both understand what happens behind the scenes, we can really empathise with each other.

Another positive is that our work naturally becomes part of daily life. For example, if I go for a walk and spot a lovely cot being offered for donation in our neighbourhood, I can call Tomasz and he will happily come and help me bring it home. Afterwards, we know it will be checked and passed on to a family who needs need.

Over the years, we have had to find a balance, because talking about work could easily take up a big part of our conversations. Now, one of us will say, 'OK, enough about work,' and then we laugh and change the subject.

Fun fact: some days we do not have enough space to hang our own clothes because the dryers are full of baby clothes and footmuffs."

When Renata and Tomasz got married, their Little Village community was there to celebrate alongside them.

"It felt amazing. It was not only members of staff who came, but also volunteers from our Brent hub. One of my volunteers is a florist, and she made a beautiful bouquet and buttonhole as a wedding gift.

We received so many wonderful, heartfelt messages from colleagues, along with gifts, and above all we felt truly loved by this wonderful village. We could not feel more grateful."

Here's to finding purpose, supporting one another, and being part of a village that feels like family. 🥂

Child poverty doesn't just affect what families have. It affects how they feel.

These findings from our latest Impact Report remind us that behind every statistic is a parent doing everything they can for their child. 💚
