Thank you to the (all now Past!) Metropolitan Grand Stewards who helped out at Wednesday's Metropolitan Grand Lodge AGM and SLGR investiture! Well done to the 2025 Stewards on such sterling work over the past year. And a big welcome and congratulations to the newly invested 2026 Stewards - get ready for your best year yet in Freemasonry!

Last night, nine members of the Metropolitan Grand Stewards’ Lodge took part in a Sleep Out, sleeping on the terrace of Somerset House, in support of Centrepoint and its vital work to help end youth homelessness. Thanks to the generosity of members and supporters, significant funds have already been raised.

Out and about in January, including a visit to Leopold Lodge L1571 for their sesquicentenary (that's a 150th anniversary to you and me), and Chartered Architects and Malleus 3244 for a sextuple initiation!

On Friday 6th February several members of 9812 will be taking part in Centrepoint's 'Sleep Out' at Somerset House in aid of young homeless people. We'll be sleeping out on their River Terrace which is outdoors on a hard concrete floor, and preparing for cold and potentially wet weather!

Over 118,000 young people in the UK face homelessness - but together, we can change this. By giving up our beds for one night, we’re taking on a challenge that pushes us out of our comfort zone, raising vital funds, standing in solidarity, and helping to ensure no young person has to face homelessness alone. Sleep Out isn’t about replicating homelessness; it’s about taking meaningful action to help end it for good.

Thanks to all who came along to the meeting of Metropolitan Grand Stewards Lodge 9812 on Tuesday night to hear a talk from Bro Bill Rowlinson, a Chelsea Pensioner, on the history of the Royal Hospital Chelsea!

Our next meeting will be on Thursday 14th May in the Grand Temple, when W Bro Richard Sams will be installed as Worshipful Master of the Lodge. All brethren, no matter what rank or degree, are very welcome to attend!

Back to school for the start of the new masonic term, and the Met Grand Stewards - past and present - have already been busy on numerous outings!

Members of the Met Grand Stewards demo team visited South Africa Lodge 6742 on Monday, to present the abridged first degree lectures. An especial well done to Alberto for a stellar performance on his first outing with the team!

The next presentation of The Welcome Project Narrated Raising is rapidly approaching! Next Friday, June 6th, the Metropolitan Grand Master RW Bro Warren Duke will be a Special Guest Narrator for the next outing of this incredibly well-received educational and entertaining event.

Hosted by Bank of England Lodge at 6pm, our very own Metropolitan Grand Stewards Demonstration Team will be performing a high-quality demonstration of the Ceremony of Raising which will be "paused" throughout for a team of narrators - including the Metropolitan Grand Master - will deliver a commentary explaining some of the symbolic, historical, scriptural and esoteric meanings and references in the Ceremony.
