We're a community sponsorship group in South-East London, resettling refugee families locally. Follow us for updates, events & volunteering.

Join us on 18th June at Herne Hill Baptist Church for our community event celebrating Herne Hill as a place of welcome.

We'll be looking for people to take our work forward, welcoming an Afghan family to Herne Hill via the new government "Families for Afghans" scheme.

It's been a busy few weeks for us. Many of you will have seen us leafleting & recruiting at the Herne Hill Market. We are also delighted that so many people came along to our fundraiser gig and auction at OTC on 15th October, where we raised around £5000 in support of refugee families settling locally. Most importantly, our second refugee family is coming up to a year of living in the UK and we're working towards sponsoring a third family.

Thank you to our wonderful community for continuing to support our group, especially to Herne Hill Music Festival, OTC Bar - Off The Cuff, Blue Spike and The Long String Hawkers in recent weeks!

Just 3 weeks to go until our fundraiser at Off the Cuff on 15 October. Check out below the St James Infirmary Blues from The Long String Hawkers, one of two fantastic bands who will be performing at this gig (along with the excellent Blue Spike).

Please come along and support us. Your money will go straight towards helping us in our mission to resettle and support refugee families in the area. We've sponsored two familes so far and are working towards a third.

Join us, together with Lambeth Citizens Migrant Justice institutions for an evening of celebration, learning and action. Hear from groups supporting refugees coming via Community Sponsorship, via Local Authorities, Ukrainian resettlement scheme; as well as Afghan people still in hotels, asylum seekers with no recourse to public funds.

With Helen Hayes MP and Helena McGinty from Lambeth Council.

On 11th June, there will be fantastic classical music in Herne Hill, at a 'Serenading for Refugees' night. There is free entry, with a collection on the night for our group and the UN refugee agency.
With huge thanks to London Consorts of Winds , Herne Hill Music Festival and Herne Hill United Church Methodist Reformed for supporting us. Our work wouldn't be possible without the local community behind us!

London Consorts of Winds conducted by Herne Hill Music Festival director Alan Taylor will be 'Serenading for Refugees' on 11th June in Herne Hill United Church Methodist Reformed with a programme featuring Mozart and Beethoven. Free admission with a collection for the The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and Herne Hill Welcomes Refugees.
