The Happy Baby Community (HBC) is a user and volunteer-led charity helping new and expectant moms who flee from violence and seek asylum in the UK.

Young women who have survived trafficking and violence and have a new baby, face the huge challenge of starting a new life in a new country alone and living in poverty (£39.63 PW). Without childcare, they are unable to access language and vocational training. Without trusted friends and family they struggle to access statutory support and children's development activities. They are unable to acces

s mental health services due to poor English skills and lack of childcare. They lack a trusted community. The Happy Baby Community (HBC) is a user and volunteer-led charity. A community led by women with lived experience of the issues, speaking 14 languages, able to understand and address the challenges facing new and expectant mums. HBC works with 45 partners to wrap around the support for the new mums. HBC's, 8 community hubs, weekly text messaging and a virtual community facilitate this support.

This is a Monday morning at Happy Baby Community ACTON Group. A huge thank you to and for leading an amazing workshop for our mums, sharing simple tips on how to create a fresh, confident look in just five minutes, even when you’re busy, rushing out the door, or holding a baby on your lap!
The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and confidence, and by the end everyone was absolutely glowing. ✨
We are incredibly grateful to Trinny London for their generosity, for gifting products to our mums, and for making this special workshop possible.
Thank you for helping our mothers feel seen, valued, and beautiful. ❤️

🏆 Receiving the award at the GSK Impact Awards ceremony at The King’s Fund was a truly meaningful and memorable moment.
🧡It was an honour to be recognised alongside so many inspiring organisations working to make a lasting difference in their communities.

So proud to share that Happy Baby Community is a winner of this year’s GSK IMPACT Awards 🎉
This prestigious award, delivered by GSK in partnership with The King’s Fund, recognises our work supporting pregnant women, mothers and children under three who have fled violence, trafficking and persecution to find safety in the UK.
We had a special filming day for the awards ceremony today 🎥✨A proud moment to reflect on the strength of the women we support and the dedication of our amazing community.

What an inspiring day at Leathersellers’ Hall today. Being in a room with so many charity leaders, funders, and experts was incredibly energising. Thank you to everyone who made the day so insightful, there’s so much to take away and reflect on.
