Darshna's samosa‑making workshop yesterday was an absolute delight.

Participants learned how to make dough, mix the perfect filling, and roll it out with the special Indian rolling pin (yes, the one that looks exactly like a drumstick). 

Everyone mastered the triangle fold, the vibes were relaxed, and everyone left with full bellies and containers of fresh samosas.

Our garden is absolutely thriving as we step into summer.

A stunning mix of food plants, wildflowers and even giant African sunflowers, some already fully open.

Thanks to Southwark Council and , we’re growing an incredible amount of produce that now supplies our Community Kitchen.

In our garden, we have now tomatoes (everywhere!), courgettes, squashes, pumpkins, sweetcorn, dozens of mint varieties, sorrel, lettuces, beetroots, tomatillos, kale, lovage, parsley, coriander, oca, aubergine, nasturtiums and more.

Yesterday’s meal was made almost entirely from the garden: potato and beetroot gratin, kohlrabi salad, and fresh lettuce with Asian herbs.

It’s a joy to spend time in this space, and if you’d like to get involved, we run volunteer gardening sessions every Friday from 10am–12noon (weather depending). Come grow with us. 🌿💛🌻
