Our garden is absolutely thriving as we step into summer.

A stunning mix of food plants, wildflowers and even giant African sunflowers, some already fully open.

Thanks to Southwark Council and , we’re growing an incredible amount of produce that now supplies our Community Kitchen.

In our garden, we have now tomatoes (everywhere!), courgettes, squashes, pumpkins, sweetcorn, dozens of mint varieties, sorrel, lettuces, beetroots, tomatillos, kale, lovage, parsley, coriander, oca, aubergine, nasturtiums and more.

Yesterday’s meal was made almost entirely from the garden: potato and beetroot gratin, kohlrabi salad, and fresh lettuce with Asian herbs.

It’s a joy to spend time in this space, and if you’d like to get involved, we run volunteer gardening sessions every Friday from 10am–12noon (weather depending). Come grow with us. 🌿💛🌻

We still have a few spaces left in our Art & Nature Project for ages 6–11 and 12–16!

Our younger group, led by Zoe Burt, has been exploring natural inks, cyanotypes, trees, shapes and the insects around us, and creating masks inspired by woodland creatures. The older group, led by Emma Cole, has been developing 3D insect sculptures based on animals spotted around the estate, alongside learning weaving and nature‑based making.

Next sessions: 🌿 8 July – ages 6–11 🌿 17 July at 4pm – ages 12–16 We’re planning a visit to the woods next to explore even more of the nature on our doorstep.

This event is being offered as part of London Wildlife Trust’s 'Reuniting Sydenham Hill Wood and Dulwich Wood' project, an initiative that brings together two ancient woodlands known locally as Sydenham Hill Wood and Dulwich Wood, while also delivering a host of physical improvements and community activities to this much-loved local resource and green space. The project is made possible by the support of a number of funders and community partners: The National Lottery Heritage Fund, The Dulwich Estate, Southwark Council, The Kusuma Trust, The John Horseman Trust, Wanderers of Colour, and Kingswood Community CIC. This funding and these partnerships help to secure the future of the woods by bringing together the management of Sydenham Hill Wood and Dulwich Wood under London Wildlife Trust, and welcoming people from all backgrounds into the Woods.

We are looking for a Duty Manager at Kingswood House. If you are calm, organised and experienced in events or hospitality, this could be a great fit. The role involves opening/closing building, supporting clients and guests, overseeing events, and keeping the venue safe and running smoothly. Weekend availability is essential.

Kingswood House Community Garden is feeling so lucky!!! 🌿💚🌿

We’ve just received our second huge delivery of seedlings from the amazing team at and honestly, we’re spoiled.

This round includes: cape gooseberries, four types of basil and chillies, mixed oca, aubergines, malabar spinach, tomatillos, tomatoes, French beans, courgettes, sweetcorn, salads, cucumbers… and more. A whole rainbow of future food 💥

All of this will be grown right here on Kingswood Estate to:
✨ cook with our Community Kitchen events
✨ share the harvest with residents who fancy fresh, organic, seasonal produce

Huge love to Burgess Park Community Plant Nursery for supporting this project for the second year in a row. You’re helping us grow food, skills, confidence, and community. 🌻🌱

What a day! 💚 Our community event last week brought in over 200 people, and the atmosphere was incredible. Thank you all for coming. We truly felt the community spirit, and it was magical.

We hope everyone had a great time and found something for themselves. The day was so busy that not everyone may have seen our sign‑up table. Our newsletter is coming soon, and you can still join.
