The support that Chance to Shine offers our coaches and schools is well varied. From accredited resources to in-person training events, we do everything in our power to ensure children receive a high-quality cricket experience.

At events like our Trainer the Trainer day in Derby, coaches from across our delivery network come together to discover the latest in coaching techniques, so they can go into their communities to deliver best in class sessions.

By collaborating with 41 delivery partners, Chance to Shine has unrivalled reach in primary schools and communities across the UK.

Our inaugural Youth Advisory Board Impact Report is officially here 🎉

Our new “A Year in YAB” report celebrates the incredible contribution of our Youth Advisory Board and the role youth voice plays in shaping our work at Chance to Shine.

This week, Co-Chairs Llio Parry and Ammar Din Begum presented the report to our Board of Trustees, highlighting YAB’s impact on programme design, event support and ambassadorship.

Taking you behind the scenes at Lord's…

Seeing such great support at this year's Chance to Dine blew us away.

Of course, it's cool to be cooked for by some England legends, but for us the impact this generosity has it what matters.

We shared Jacob's story on the night. He struggled to get into any other sports before Chance to Shine delivered at his school, and now cricket's his favourite thing to do.

It's only night's like this which make it possible to give over 600,000 children the joys of cricket, every year.

Oh what a night ✨

Former England legends Steven Finn, Darren Gough and Lydia Greenway swapped the outfield for the kitchen at Chance to Dine 2026, with Finny's Salmon Tartare taking home the title.

We're always blown away by how the cricket community gets behind Chance to Dine, with broadcaster Dan Norcross, auctioneer Richard Madley, former players Adam Hollioake and John Emburey all attending.

Dave Fulton was a wonderful host, and our co-founder Mark Nicholas offered some inspiring words, as he always does.

Your support was truly humbling and means we can continue to ensure more children, no matter their background, experience the joys of the game.

"It's my favourite thing to do, I can't live without it." 🏏

The words of Ajlal, who with his elder brother Talal, moved to the UK from Pakistan in 2024.

Any concerns they couldn't continue their passion were alleviated on discovering Young Asian Voices (YAV) Sunderland Street Cricket Club.

It's provided the perfect setting for them to make friends, while developing their cricketing and English speaking skills.

Both Ajlal and Talal represented Durham Young Asian Voices at our 2026 National Street Finals. Ajlal U15 team even went and won their category.

When our coaches are teaching, they're always asking questions and offering encouragement to each and every child. 🏏

Coach Ryan wants to keep them inquisitive and makes sure to reflect after his sessions, to keep them involved, even when they're not enjoying an activity.

Using child first coaching principles, our fully qualified expert coaches ensure children always have a voice during sessions.

Wednesday morning was a particularly special one for Youth Advisory Board member Momina Khalid, who spoke on the panel at the 'One Commonwealth, One Team' Exhibition Cricket Series launch event at Marlborough House.

Alongside West Indies great Sir Vivian Richards, Donna Fraser OBE and Rob Lawson, Momina highlighted how cricket has helped her build community, while sharing how Chance to Shine achieves this sense of belonging and comradery in schools and community Street clubs.

We're so proud of how Momina has developed the confidence to speak to an audience of Commonwealth leaders as well as one of the greatest cricketers in the history of the game.

It's an honour to be mentioned in such high esteem by Wisden Cricket Monthly (WCM), who featured Chance to Shine as one of their 100 changes to the game this century, as park of their special 100th issue.

Since its inception in 2017, WCM have always supported our work delivering cricket to children up and down England, Wales and Scotland, and highlighted our landmark moments throughout these last nine years.

To everyone at Wisden, thank you for being such wonderful advocates of what we do.

Last year's Primary School of the Year, Slade Primary School, were:
🏏Adapting sessions for hearing impaired children
🏏Integrating cricket into the PE curriculum
🏏Getting involved in local school competitions
