Pink Bows Foundation

Pink Bows Foundation Our mission is to promote stronger safety protocols to be consistently implemented at venues.

Pink Bows Foundation was founded following the tragic loss of Madison Alexis Dubiski, who lost her life while attending the Astroworld music festival at the age of 23 on November 5, 2021 in Houston, Texas. Madison was well known for having the kindest heart, being extremely loving, spirited, loyal, and an absolute joy that lit up the world and community. Her passion for giving started at a young age with the completion of over 500 documented volunteer hours, working with over twenty five (25) different non-profits by high school graduation. It is now our turn to continue the gift that Madison naturally gave to the world.

On November 5, 2021, ten people went to a concert in Houston and never came home. They were 9 to 27 years old. The Houston Police Department ruled that every one of those deaths and hundreds of additional injuries were completely preventable.

This past week, one month before the fifth anniversary, Rolling Loud: The Movie opened in theaters. It is a raunchy “comedy” about a father who sneaks his 13-year-old son into a hip-hop festival headlined by Travis Scott, who appears in the film, and then loses track of him. It was produced by Live Nation Studios, which was also the promoter of Travis Scott’s Astroworld.

We are disgusted and deeply disturbed by this film.

What troubles us most is that the film producers know better. Crowd safety is acknowledged early in the story, then abandoned for the rest of it, as if it were a social checkbox rather than the difference between a night out and a funeral. Crowd safety research is clear that crowd crushes are not random accidents. They are foreseeable and preventable when density, movement and communication are planned for, and when someone has the authority to stop the show. A film that treats safety as an afterthought sends that message to every fan heading to a festival.

To the families of the other nine victims of Travis Scott’s Astroworld: we see you, and we stand with you. We will have more to say as the anniversary approaches.

Every fan deserves to go home safely.

Thanks to FOX 10 Phoenix for stopping by the Safe Space at the Arizona State Fair 💕🎀

The fair is big, bright and loud, and that’s half the fun. It can also be a lot. Our Safe Space gives fairgoers a cool, quiet place to step away from the crowds, catch their breath and reset before heading back out to the midway.

The air-conditioned tent has comfortable seating and a calm atmosphere. It’s staffed by Pink Bows Foundation representatives, volunteers and licensed mental health professionals who are happy to sit down and talk if the day starts to feel overwhelming. We’re proud to host it alongside our partners at NAMI Valley of the Sun, and it’s the first Safe Space we’ve brought outside of Texas.

The Safe Space is free and open to everyone. Guests 15 and under just need to be with an adult. Come find us Oct. 8-9, 15-18 and 22-25, and Oct. 29 through Nov. 1

Pink Bows Foundation is excited to be bringing a Safe Space tent to the Arizona State Fair in partnership with NAMI, open Thursdays through Sundays from October through the end of November.

Fairs are loud and bright and long, which is most of the fun, and it is also a lot for anyone who needs a minute.

The tent is a quiet spot with people in it who know how to help. A chair, water, a break from the noise, and a conversation if you want one.
