HOW I NEVER LEFT
This is Ceniza. Here is a link to the episode 24 of Turbulence Platform:
https://open.substack.com/pub/turbulencepod/p/episode-24-a-geography-of-palestine?r=17ed99&utm_medium=ios
We received such wonderful feedback from listeners who were as moved by it.
One audience member did have a question about an article you referenced that your friend wrote called something like “I have never left.” If you’re able to send a link or author that would be great.
We appreciate you and hope to stay in touch!
Dear Ceniza of Turbulence platform
Thank you for the link. I value your episode greatly. It is genuine and sincere.
“I have never left” appears in p 276, Chapter: “Charting the Land” in my memoir Mapping my Return.
In 1995 I visited my home Palestine for the first time after 47 years of Al Nakba, armed by my Canadian passport and Israel relaxing rules after Oslo agreement. My daughter Rania was with me visiting Palestine for the first time.
I told the driver (Palestinian from Jerusalem) to go left, right, look at left, right etc. He was amazed. He was used to visiting Palestinians asking him about places. He was then the guide.
He asked me: Do you live here? Hence the answer: I have never left.
I meant that over the years I was pouring over maps, making new maps and atlases, listing 30,000 place names.
I founded Palestine Land Society in London in year 2000 for this purpose.
The rest is history.

The ‘Atlas of Palestine: Land Theft by the Jewish National Fund’ raises the central issues of agency (who stole that land and how did the JNF come to “own” it?) and rightful possession (which villages do those lands belong to, who lived there, and where are the scattered owners now?)
This Atlas will be of special relevance to Palestinian refugees displaced from the 372 villages whose land was allocated to the JNF/KKL in a fictitious land “sale” and subsequently covered in parks and forests, hiding demolished villages and preventing any return. For Palestinians, the names of their villages are resurrected and recorded on the map.

The Haganah attacked Beersheba on 21 October 1948. A week later, David Ben-Gurion came to inspect the town. He admired the fine stone government buildings, the Arab houses and the boys’ school, where I had been a student. He liked them so much so he decided to live there. After his death in 1973 he was buried at Sde Boker, a little to the south of the town, near the Arab village of Rakhama (renamed Yeruham in Hebrew). In the 78 years since 1948, I have never ceased to think, plan and strive for my right of return home.’

ARE ALL THE JEWS ZIONISTS?
Of course not. Some of the ardent Zionists are not Jews.
To find out if they are or not, the Litmus Test is about the Right of Return, pure and simple, without ifs and buts. It will reveal their true colours.

What bothers me are the Jews who say they NOT Zionists. They come in different grades: strong, mild and in-between. If the Zionists are demonstrably criminals, they are against them. If not, they find an escapable excuse for them.
Apply this test and you expose them. Ask them about the Right of Return.
They may say, yes we are for the Right of Return. BUT what about the Jews who are now living in Palestinian homes? Where would they go?
What about Arab Jews who came after Israel was declared to take advantage of Israeli invasion and now live in Arab homes?
There was population exchange: One group was expelled and another took their place. And many such excuses.
The answer is clear:
Every Palestinian must be allowed to return home.
Every Palestinian must recover his property.
Legally, the right of first ownership typically refers to the principle of first possession. This bedrock property concept dictates that the initial entity to discover, capture, or claim an unowned resource rightfully establishes vested ownership. Once perfectly vested, that individual holds absolute authority to control, use, and transfer the asset.
Any peaceful person can live in Palestine like an Italian in Italy or an Englishman in England.

Operation Yiftach-el
In July 1948 Israeli soldiers from Palmach unit (headed by Yigal Allon later Israeli Prime Minister) attacked the village of Hunin in Galilee, captured 3 women (age 15, 20, 40), r***d them then smashed their heads by bullets. Their bodies were left to rot. At least one of the attackers obtained a high position in the newly formed “Israeli Government”.

This ghastly barbarity is glorified in Israel by adopting the name Yiftachel to people and places as a symbol of heroism.

When you see the name YIFTACH-EL remember the ghastly crime of ra**ng and smashing the heads of three females, one of them was a child.

Israel’s criminal record grew much larger and became today the symbol of barbarity in the world.
