Today marks the , also celebrated as or , which is the longest day of the year and one of the most joyful festivals of the Pagan calendar. The solstice symbolises the height of Summer, a time of plenty and celebration before the Wheel of the Year turns again towards Winter. Last night, hundreds of people will have gathered at Stonehenge to celebrate the shortest night of the year and to watch the sun rise directly behind the heel stone of the monument, as it does each year on this date.

Image Description: Text reads 'Summer Solstice. June 21st 2026.' A cartoon graphic shows the monument of Stonehenge on a carpet of grass, with a large yellow sun rising behind. The WIN logo is at the bottom of the image.

Today and all year round, refugees will always be welcome, valued and celebrated in the WIN community. Almost every sacred text has its own commandment to welcome and shelter the stranger, or tells us stories of exile and forced migration. We know these are frightening times for many, with nationalist and anti-immigrant rhetoric on the rise, so it's never been more important to loudly support our migrant and refugee neighbours. Together, we can drown out the voices of hate. Please follow and support the organisations tagged below who are doing vital work to spread a message of welcome and sanctuary for all.

Image Description: Text reads 'World Refugee Day. June 20th 2026.' A cartoon graphic shows two people standing on either side of a woman raising their arms over her head as a shelter, while she clutches her arms to her chest. The WIN logo is at the bottom of the image.

Today Sikhs remember the first Sikh martyr and fifth guru of the Sikh community, Guru Arjan, who was tortured and executed by order of the Mughal emperor Jehangir. Guru Arjan's sacrifice is a reminder to Sikh's of the divine message (gurbani) of conquering death and suffering, and commitment to justice, dignity and religious freedom above all else. An akhand path - a complete reading of the scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib - precedes the festival and some Sikhs will distribute cool drinks (Chabeel) as a reminder of the heat the Guru endured during torture.

Image Description: A simple red graphic shows the Ek Onkar symbol, reflecting the Sikh belief in the oneness of the divine. Text reads 'Martyrdom of Guru Arjan. June 16th 2026.' The WIN logo is at the bottom of the image.

It's Refugee Week: the world's largest arts and culture festival celebrating the resilience, contributions and creativity of refugees, in the run up to Refugee Day on June 20th. This year the theme is courage, honouring the courage refugees show each day - in their journeys away from home, in rebuilding their lives and facing uncertainty along the way. Next week the WIN community is coming together with our friends Creating Ground CIC to celebrate, create and share stories. How are you celebrating ?

On this holy day, Baha’is commemorate the earthly death and ascension of their prophet-founder Baha’u’llah in 1892, abstaining from work and reading the scriptures. Baha’u’llah's resting place in Bahji, Northern Israel - a shrine surrounded by an ornate garden - is the holiest site in the Baha’i faith: a place of pilgrimage as well as the 'Point of Adoration' which all Baha'is face in prayer.

Image Description: Text reads 'The Ascension of Baha'u'llah. May 29th 2026.' A cartoon graphic shows a black circle with a nine pointed star at its centre. The WIN logo is at the bottom of the image.
