Today - 12 August 2026 - is International Youth Day! And as we celebrate this special day, may we be reminded that we are all influencers for Jesus. And in our youth, may we be an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.

Do not let anyone look down on you for your youth! But rather, let us be a reminder and be reminded that we are the present and the future of our dear Army, to speak and show Jesus to everyone around us - becoming the light in this darkened world.

🗓️ Last week, Major Juanita Wright, International Youth and Children Officer, visited The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory, and joined the youth on their Territorial Youth Institute entitled, “Storyline”.

The Territorial Youth Institute is a week where young adults from all over the Southern Territory come together to worship, grow, serve, create connections, and “discover more of what God is writing into their story.” Despite the Florida heat, the youth gathered for powerful worship, challenged one another through discipleship, and so much more. A lot of memories have been made that for sure, would be carried into the lives of the youth, even beyond the TYI. ❤️

The Salvation Army drives community-led efforts to respond to modern slavery and human trafficking in 134 countries. With the dedication of local and international officers, soldiers, survivors, employees, volunteers and friends, we are confronting this crisis together. 🙏

🌍⏳ One year to go!

In just under a year from now, young members of The Salvation Army from across the globe will gather in Jakarta, Indonesia for The Salvation Army’s International Youth Congress (IYC) 2027.

The countdown officially began on Thursday 16 July 2026 during family prayers at the movement’s International Headquarters (IHQ) in London, where staff and guests gathered 12 months ahead of the congress to be held from 15 to 20 July 2027.

Over the coming year, Salvation Army territories will begin selecting delegates and preparing for the congress. The International Youth Congress is more than a gathering. It is an investment in the future of The Salvation Army, a prayerful commitment to raise up a generation of courageous, Holy Spirit-filled leaders who will return home ready to strengthen their local expressions, transform their communities and share the hope of Jesus Christ.
