The Zaguieta region of Côte d’Ivoire is rich in water and life. Young boys often spend their free time hunting frogs or swimming in the nearby swamps. 🐸 💧

But every step into the water carries invisible risks, such as infection.

Healthy environments involve not just protecting nature but also making sure they are safe for the people who rely on them.

Donate using the link in our bio to support our work to end parasitic disease.

In the lead up to International Women’s Day, we’re choosing to highlight female ge***al schistosomiasis (FGS), which affects millions of women and girls yet remains one of the most overlooked women’s health issues.

Its symptoms often resemble sexually transmitted infections or cervical cancer, which can lead to frequent misdiagnosis and stigma.

Raising awareness and integrating FGS prevention and care into existing health services is key to ensuring every woman and girl can access the care they deserve.
