Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Yacht Club The Club provides sail training and economical sailing facilities in a Service Yacht Club environment.

The RNVRYC was founded in 1947 as the sailing section of The Naval Club. Now independent but with close links to The Naval Club, the key aim is to provide sail training and economical sailing facilities in a Service Yacht Club environment. Club members have special charter rates for Volunteer, a First 40.7 racing cruiser – details at www.volunteeryachting.com. In addition, the Club promotes sailin

g, safely and sociably, through a full sailing and social programme which includes a summer cruise, rallies and group charters in exotic locations and an annual dinner in prestigious venues. During the winter months there is a varied training and lecture programme. The Club has over 400 boat owning and non boat owning members, both sail and motor, around the UK and abroad. Membership is open to all with RN, RNR, RNVR, RM, RMR or RFA service or with other strong maritime or sailing links. Further details including contacts can be viewed on the Club website: www.rnvryc.org. The RNVRYC is a thriving yacht club, with members participating in a wide and varied programme of sailing and social events. These include various weekend and week-long cruises mostly in the Solent, on either side of the Channel and on the East Coast, plus a biennial Caribbean cruise where members enjoy island-hopping on chartered yachts.
